Personally I think the chubby Northerner is doing this purely for his own national politics, to gain support from his brainwashed masses. I doubt there is actually any venom involved.

Silly as far as his country goes, isolates them more. Loses what little support and money they have but he won't care, he is vastly wealthy and can do what he likes.

North Korea are responding to the thousands of american troops in the region. The american warships, american bombers. All doing wargames on the north korean borders. America, the country that has overthrown many many many regimes are now massing troops around north korea.

What do you expect north korea to do? All they have said is they will respond and retaliate to american aggression,

Do you even understand why there is a north and south korea? It's because american and UK and other allies invaded the country and partitioned it. The US refuses to sign a peace treaty with North Korea because one of their demands is that there are no nuclear weapons on the korean peninsular and no foreign troops. Do you think this is an unreasonable demand?

If France mobilised tens of thousands of their troops in northern france, and patrolled the channel with nuclear equipped warships and flew nuclear capable bombers along our borders what would you expect our government to do? Hand over our only real deterrent like the americans expect north korea to do?

If north korea did not have a nuclear capacity then there is nothing stopping america invading just like they did in iraq, afghansitan and all the rest.

Are you really so naive that you think north korea want to attack america? or japan?

Why is america interferring with the korean issue at all?

...North Korea, much like the rest of the Communist world, could open it's doors up and slacken their grip on its people, society, culture etc and again, like the rest of the communist world, accept the investment. They could reap vast rewards, their people could live freely and they could become part of the world community.

Maybe that's not an option, they clearly are doing sooooo well.

No it isnt. Noone invaded Korea. Korea had been a Japanese colony since 1910. The allied powers (US, UK, USSR and China) decided what to do with the Japanese colonies at the Cairo conference in 1943. The decision was to give the USSR trusteeship over territory to the north of the 38th parallel and the to the south.

better off than what?

is Iraq "better off" now? is Afghanistan. Have you learnt absolutely nothing from american regime change?

I know that north korea is absolutely fucked because of the harshest sanctions ever imposed on a country.

Your missing my point completely. The USA never invaded any of the mentioned communist countries, those nations one way or another have opened themselves up. No invasion necessary funnily enough.

North Koreas closest allie, China, who slowly but surely are creeping along letting chains go are an example of what North Korea could do but no, no. They close their doors, shackle their people and isolate themselves. They f*cked themselves by being the most inward facing nation on Earth. Even Iran is more open.

This is all forgetting what can happen with the USAs help. See South Korea and Japan.

why cant they live as they please? how dare america tell anyone how to live their lives. You seem very happy to be controlled by america. I am not. And nor are the north koreans

there is absolutely no justification for the military build up by the usa on north koreas border.

The reason the country is on its arse is because of the sanctions placed upon it by the usa for not bending their knee towards them

Apparently the new staple diet in DPRK is now each other. Surely they aren't stupid to actually go ahead with anything?

(saying that they did recently sink a South Korean war ship & get off scott free with it!)

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
