the wonderwhy
It's not just a word, it's a homophobic slur and really no need to be used in this context at all.
mrtourette
These guys need to update their damn website! Some good additions there, line-up's getting better and better.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Pathetic? It's just a word?
cherisecourters
I'm gonna throw it out there & say primal scream? They're headlining kendal calling & bingley which usually have similar headliners or people playing.. Would LOVE The Courteeners or Maccabees to play, but yeahhh. Reckon Foals could be a possibility too...
pryce
most likely go to this as well as 2000trees ... Pineapple thief!!!! waiting for the 2000trees announcement in a couple of weeks though to make my final decision
Com Truise
It's pathetic to use the word in the way that you did, not to mention outright homophobic.
Paul ™
Just because you think you didn't use it in a homophobic way, doesn't mean it is ok to use it. People interpret words differently, and you posted it on a public forum which is open to interpretation from many others. So even if you think you're in the right, people reading it may take it the wrong way. And as the offending post has now been removed, I assume the moderators see if the same way as myself and Frankly Mr Shankly. You should just be more careful on what words you use, as people can take offence to it no matter what way you present it.
Frankly Mr Shankly
To me saying you wouldn't attend somewhere because it'll be full of "fags" is homophobic, perhaps you didn't mean it that way but it could certainly be interpreted as such. I agree with Paul, there's just simply no need to use it in any context, whilst it may just be a word to you, to someone else it's an insult. Also, what is your age? I'm 21 & it certainly isn't a commonly used word amongst my friends... Edited April 4, 2013 by Frankly Mr Shankly

Com Truise
Lmao I'm 17, but whatever I won't say it here again. And I'm not homophobic in the slightest. But okay, just forget it.
sinc72
Hello everyone, How big is this festival in terms of people? One of the best line ups about at the moment,The horrors and cribs, class
mrtourette
According to the efests page it's 8000. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/ynot/2013/
sinc72
Is there a 3rd headliner to be announced? Or is it the enemy on the Friday?
xxtinkerbellxx
Nope they still haven't announced Friday's headliner
Com Truise
The Darkness.... Yeah I'm glad I decided not to go.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Seems like such a strange choice, they stick out like a sore thumb. I'm all for festivals taking risks, but the Darkness are a bad joke that were never really funny to begin with.
the wonderwhy
The Darkness are a great headliner IMO. Permission To Land is an awesome album. That top six is better than Readings Edited April 20, 2013 by MattDavies__
ampersand
Saw the Darkness last year. Still amazing. Last album made up for One Way Ticket To Hell. Will buy tickets soon. Promise.
xxtinkerbellxx
I was disappointed at first but have come round to the idea now, have heard they are amazing live. Really happy with Virginmarys though, they are the one band I was crossing my fingers for.
sinc72
The Darkness are one of these terrible 'joke' bands who really stand out on what is an indie/rock festival. Pretty disappointed with that announcement. i would have thought a band like the Coral, Zutons or Franz Ferdinand fits the feel of the festival more. Com Truise
The amount of people moaning because it wasn't Foals was ridiculous. They're headlining Latitude, and are third at R&L? Do people not realise how big they are now! The Darkness is a really weird booking though, not sure which hat they've pulled that out of. They definitely disappointed a lot of people with that one. mrtourette
They're still a pretty big band though, they've subbed Download and headlined the second stage at IOW in recent years. Another good catch.
GuitarManDan15
Personally I love the darkness, the first album is awesome, and after a few beers they are great for a sing-along! Never been to Y-not or followed it before, when does it sell out? Really interested in going but having just paid of glasto and download funds are a bit low for the foreseeable future
