Yeah, doves split up a couple of years ago. One of the great festival bands in my opinion, seen them loads of times, my favourite being Glasto in 2005 after the biblical flood of the night before. Great stuff. Need more bands like them

They havent split up, they are just taking a break. They have never been that prolific, there was 4 years betweem their last albums. I think Jimi is doing a solo project of some sort. But they definitely havent split up

I'm sure I read an interview with them, possibly from 2011 or early 2012 saying they suffer from massive writers block, and that they always got it between albums and that was why there were generally big gaps between albums

edit: though I could be thinking about a different band now I think about it

I was sure i'd heard they had spilt up, had a big row or something. I could be wrong. A pity, i missed the last JP gig, clashes and all that , i had seen them earlier that year , was it 2010 or 2009? Saw them at the Brixton Academy just after Kingdom of Rust had come out. A girlfriend of a mate got me into them , again another great band i'd missed!
