i wouldn't say they're quite there yet to headline Other - don't QUITE have that pulling power to get people away from the headliners, but subbing Other would definitely be fantastic, and i sincerely hope it's below a Other headliner who i intend to see so i don't have to worry about leaving part way through their set or anything

hoping that they play high up the other, didnt think much of them from their debut album. but total life forever was a great record... and one of their new songs is a right stomper!!! absolutely rocking, hopefully they put a few more heavy riffs on the new record! really like them now and looking forward to the album.

this is the song im referring to....

I think Foals' first album was spot on, and the first-half of the second album was really good too. Think that got proggessively worse as it went on though personally. Still, with a few big songs off the new record, they've got more than enough for a great festival set. Always got good energy live too, I remember seeing them in an empty room for £4 a few months before they released their debut.

On first listen it seems like a very solid album, but maybe not quite the progression in sound that I was hoping for, or that Inhaler led me to believe they where embarking on. Although the clues were in the other two singles they had released.

Obviously going to need plenty more listens before I can really make my mind up in. Looking forward to getting into it over the next couple of days.

just had my first listen of the new album. not as immediate as Total Life Forever, and nothing even approaching the brilliance of Spanish Sahara imo, but it's a good listen. like Ed said, i'm quite surprised that Inhaler is the only song that really goes down that big riff route. the rest could've all fitted quite comfortably on Total Life Forever

Given it a lot of listens now. disappointed to be honest. Great first couple of tracks, great last three tracks. Bit of a bland middle. Bad habit sounds like a bad bloc party song, My number is irritating. its just a bit of a step backwards from Total Life Forever. 6 out of 10. Solid but ultimately disappointing. Will still definitely go see them though as they are a great live band.

I think its a very good record. I think the two singles are two of the best tracks on there. They appear to have been influenced by a lot of Burial esque electronica and Prince elsewhere.

There's maybe two or three weak tracks on there.

Definitely rate Inhaler, My Number, Late Night, Out Of The Woods, Providence and Moon, and can see them putting most of them in the setlist.

Can see something like:

Prelude

Miami

Total life forever

My number

Blue blood

Spanish Sahara

Balloons

Olympic Airways

Late Night

Electric Bloom

Inhaler

Two Steps Twice

And wouldn't people say Prelude isn't a million miles from Inhaler?

    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
