To be quite honest, I rate Plan B highly as I do with Chase & Status. I think it's just because their popularity has risen so fast a lot of people don't see them as viable headliners. Obviously a mainstream approach but Rockness have been going down that route since 2010, so I'd say it's fine for what they're trying to achieve.

Sadly, we've experienced the glory days/lineups of 2006-2009.

Really can't see Deadmau5 playing 2 years in a row. Didn't rate him at all last year, saw him at Barrowlands in 2010 (which was immense) and T 2011 and I just don't think his show works outside, especially when it's not dark when he starts playing. I also thought it was way too quiet last year for him on the main stage, could easily have a conversation with my mates beside me and that just completely kills the vibe.

If Plan B is on the lineup, then I cant see them announcing him until after his tour shows (14th), which would be stretching an announcement even more, which may then also run close to T's announcement. From those acts, I'd say Chase and Status is most likely, Deadmau5 wont play again so soon, RN is still a relatively new fest, they dont need to get in the repeat headline game yet

Why all the negative comments before a single act has even been announced?

It's as if some people are hoping on a poor line up just so they can be critical.

If we were to get huge acts, the ticket price would need to go right up and going by the comments over people losing out on £99 tickets and having to pay an 'outrageous' £139 (which I need to pay) I don't think that would go down very well. So I think they are limited to what acts can be booked, especially with TITP having more spending power to snap up acts.

Then you have the question of what acts are actually available to play, we would all love Daft Punk, The Prodigy, QOTSA etc and i'm sure if they were available they would be booked. I have no doubt that the team booking the acts try and snap up the best of who's available for that weekend. I'll be looking to see who's playing the undercard more than the headliners anyway, there's usually a gem or 2 in there :)

Course they do, lol. Yup that does makes sense.

Deadmau5

Example

David Guetta

Calvin Harris

Plan B

Chase and Status

If not for QOTSA, I don't know what rockier band would play it. I think Stereophonics will be at T.

Guetta has had Calvin Harris support him before.

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
