If you have enough spare room in your car, then I would always recommend a wheelbarrow. Not least because you might have one sitting around in your garden, and they lap up the mud

The wheelbarrow id the most important thing I take, apart from the beer and hob nobs of course.

...And the ticket

I got one of these for reading:

http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/tool-storage-workbenches/trollies/hand_trolley/B-and-Q-Hand-Trolley-HT2022-9686783?utm_campaign=bazaarvoice&utm_medium=SearchVoice&utm_source=RatingsAndReviews&utm_content=Default&noCookies=false

works wonders!! Had my icarus 500, both our backpacks full of clothes/beer etc as we was going by public transport! Worked a charm just an bit awkward to carry up stairs etc, if your going by public transport as the bottom plate bit doesn't come out far enough to get a grip. (Might need to adjust this, but i am learning to drive soon anyway :D)

Having seen a variety of carrying equipment over the years....

I got myself a 2nd hand pram off ebay; £5.50 - bargain.

It's got 4 x chunky pneumatic wheels - all stearable and removable, designed for multi terrain, German built!

Load the carry cot and the base rack with all your stuff, just use a couple of bungy straps to secure.

For 2 of us it does mean a 2nd journey from car park but it was brilliant at Glasto last year. There was almost a sense of gloating / smugness at pushing with one hand with a beer in the other :)

After seeing Boilerman's very comfortable camping set up at Bearded Theory I have been considering his point about getting a nice standing height tent, with a trolley to carry it. I bottled out of buying a £50 5 man tent last week, but I am seriously considering a trolley.

So I am going to keep any eye on all suggestions.

Like the ones in the efestivals shop, but a cheaper option might be a sack trolley from B&Q, with pneumatic wheels, for around £25.

Any opinions, recommendations?

Still on my 4 wheeler from 2 years ago... been sat in the garden the whole time and still fresh as a daisy. I do laugh at people who bring those 2 wheel parcel trolleys and spill their shit everywhere... just get a 4 wheel flatbed!
