Bloc Party or Biffy ?

Who would you prefer to headline? Bloc Party or Biffy Clyro ?

Wow, they're both pretty much equal to me in terms of my favourite bands haha! I'll go for Biffy as I think they deserve it more, and I've seen them live and they were sublime. Although, I'd be happy to see both of them headline.

I assume I'll see both of them on tour though, so no worries

Dont own any albums of either but are both good live when ive seen them.

Despite the fact the festival desperately needs new headliners neither should headline next year. Biffy are absolutely everywhere every summer and I just don't think Bloc Party are anywhere near big enough currently. A big album for Bloc Party and a couple of years away could change that though. If I had to choose I'd say Biffy though.

if biffy took a few years away from touring then reappeared then deffo them. actually deffo them anyway. plus they have done an arena tour whereas i don't think bloc party have (i have noted that maybe they didn't want to at the time )

Problem is there just not that mnay headlining bands really, so perhaps all festivals need to look at the likes of bloc party and biffy for new blood.

Personal preference would be Bloc Party, Biffy bore me slightly, though I'd say they have the edge in terms of size... Both bands could do with another massive album before they headline though.

I may be wrong but I thought Biffy had said they would be keeping a low profile this summer and then coming back next year. If they had done that and had a successful album then they would have been certain headliners but why would festivals book them as headliners next year after they have subbed everywhere this summer.

Because of the new album. Plus if they're exclusive R/L they'd be a decent headliner. I can't see both Bloc and Biffy headlining though. Would seem kind of weak

Well they'll be touring their new album, and they'll be one of the most suited choices to headline the festival. The fact they've subbed two fests this year sucks a bit, but I don't think it'll stop them headlining.

Let's not forget that last year we had 3 headliners playing lower down at other festivals in the same year, 2 of them not even subbing. Compared to that, Biffy headlining a year after subbing elsewhere, with a new album out, is perfectly viable.

No but festival competition there is. In scotland you have 1 major festival in titp and in england you have download, glasto, r&l and v which are major festivals so of course titp is going to be more filled with the top names.

Biffy were pretty epic as headliners at Sonisphere last year, I thought they were a lot better then Metallica who have a good live reputation

I wouldn't use Sonisphere as a prime example of a Festival that knew what it was doing though if I was you.
