Reckon Kanye will do any UK fests this year?

The only festival I could see Kanye doing is Glastonbury and maybe T/V at a push. I think he'd be a tight booking for Leeds as a different option, especially is Melvin actually starts this trend of booking one rap headliner a year that he was on about.

He sort of mentioned in a passing comment that because Eminem went down well he would maybe do a similar thing each year. Then the Leeds Festival site released a poll about which headliners you'd like to say which was very 'rap heavy' on the suggestions.

I hope it doesn't happen though, I didn't mind seeing Eminem from a reminiscing point of view but anyone else I'd not enjoy.

Sort of mentioned in a passing comment that maybe he would do something similar? I think we can mark that down as having absolutely no weight to it whatsoever.

    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.

    • Also agree, it does feel that there isn’t much between the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards these days.   This part sums it up for me “The complaint isn’t so much about the quality of the music, but more the disappearance of spaces for outsider voices in British music. With streaming algorithms feeling increasingly geared towards big names, and social media acting as a minefield, the Mercury’s pivot to the mainstream closes another door in the face of creative independence.”
