Why is everyone so pedantic today, i meant main stage ha. I'm still hoping that the Radio 1 xtra stage is infact just a club somewhere away from the actual site in a club or something that way i don't have to endure looking at 15 year olds with bandanas and baggy jeans shouting 'brap brap' while pointing there hand in the air like a gun.

From what I've read today, they seem to be making a big deal of the fact the Radio 1 Dance Stage is 3 days, whereas they haven't said anything about the 1xtra Stage being more than one day. Anyone think it could replace the Dance Stage as one day in the Lock Up?

Edit: Also, pretty sure The Killers will headline IOW.

We've got to hand it to RnL and Fest Repub. Never before in the history of any announcement for anything ever has been so anticlimactic.

Not sure how they managed to convince themselves that this announcement strategy is better than the old. But they did.

I think the indie sort of headliner has to go to either Arcade Fire or Arctic Monkeys at the moment... with Arctic Monkeys being more likely due to a longer gap away from the festival. Plus they will have had two new albums out since they played Reading last where as AF will only have one. I'm not going to write AF off though as I do think they will headline a fest this year and I would guess at Glastonbury, Reading or Bestival.

I think all this announcement did for me personally is make me lose all faith in whatever faith I have left in the festival. I know for a fact that whoever gets announced in March (or whenever it is), will just leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Reading to me isn't about acts like Wiley and Boy Better Know, or even Kings of Leon and Mumford and Sons for that matter.

I know in the musical climate we are in its getting harder and harder to find exciting bookings, but this is just taunting us.
