Friday Night Noise

I don't know the details, but my presumption would be U2 - for a few reasons.

1. the Pyramid stage is the most likely stage to cause noise complaints. It has the biggest PA, and its speakers point in the direction of Pilton where most of the local residents who might be affected by noise live.

2. they're not used to playing at festivals, so might not be aware of how strict the noise conditions are and how important it is for the event that they're stuck to.

3. they and their crew are the most likely IMO to have the sort of attitude that such things as noise levels shouldn't apply to them.

I'll regret missing primal scream forever. I saw them on the tour, but seeing them at glasto is different altogether. What was I thinking?!! sigh....

I was there.

But I'll regret missing Primal Scream forever.

It's a long story, but neatly summed up by "after 25 attempts I managed to do excess at Glastonbury".

I have regretted missing Primal Scream do their Screamadelica set in 1992 for many years, so was determined to see them this year. Slight hiccup was that my 14yr old companion had other 'must sees' that night and being a good mother I wasn't going to leave him in the dark and rain on the first night of his first festival. So we compromised.

We saw the first half of Primal Scream, then went to see CeeLo Green. But then on the way back after CeeLo we passed the Scream again and saw them doing their last couple of songs. Danced like a mad woman to Rocks.

After that performance my son chose to go off on his own the next night-much less embarassing.

A number of festivals? Your learning curve with alcohol is similar to mine it seems!

Well it only took me 6 attempts at Glasto. Spent 3am Sunday morning until 11am Sunday morning puking every 15 minutes. It was either food poisoning, which I've never had before, or, as my doctor friend thinks, I drank so much red wine on Friday night that I ripped all the lining from my stomach.

I think it was the food personally.

One things for sure, a muddy Glasto is a shabby tent is no place to be crawling in and out of every 15 minutes in the dark for a puke.

I've drunk rum plenty of times before and not had a problem. It seems I do now.
