I'd guess they'd play the tent, they played an afternoon slot on the main this year and even if it's a slot higher it'd be a waste to be playing vitually the same place two years in a row (yeah yeah Bloc party).

To me it just seems that they're spent at R&L without a new album, they had a pretty successful tent spot in 2010, got put on the main stage last year amid Melvin Benn going on about them, and being pushed up to headline the tent with what would probably be a pretty similar set just seems like a bit of a stretch.

Reckon they'd sub NME with someone like Maximo Park headlining/ 5th Main. Two Door said after their set in 2011 that they'd hope to play at Reading next year, so hopefully now they're headlining the NME tour their spot at Reading will happen.
