Just noticed Kopparberg has been added to the list of associates on the website. Be nice if they had a bar similar to that of the Aspalls cider bar last year. A bottle of this goes for £4 in the pub I work in though so can only see an increase with festival prices

Anyone know any of the answers to the following:

Roughly how far a walk from drop-off point (if one exists) to loud camp?

How far a walk to arena from loud camp?

How flat is the ground (needed a blow up mattress for glasto but not t)?

When do the bars open (not alcoholic but sometimes good to take the edge off the night before)?

Well its my first time at kendal. My first proper festival since leeds in 2002.

Was looking for a festival that had all those little things I used to love about glasto. The random little things that you would stumble upon, and just being able to get lost in the atmosphere. Kendal seemed to have all this.

Roughly how far a walk from drop-off point (if one exists) to loud camp? about 5mins as far as i remember, you're not really far from any of the points. not the glasto walk of hell thats for sure

How far a walk to arena from loud camp? again you're talking minutes rather than the half hour dairy field to shangri-la late night trawl !

How flat is the ground (needed a blow up mattress for glasto but not t)? you're sure to find some fairly flat spots around, the ground didnt seem overly hilly last year

When do the bars open (not alcoholic but sometimes good to take the edge off the night before)? im sure some of the bars opened with the arena at around 10.30ish, could be wrong though

10 minutes tops

Can get a bit slopey towards the back but the grass is quite long so quite soft. Still worth having a blow up mind

When do the bars open (not alcoholic but sometimes good to take the edge off the night before)? im sure some of the bars opened with the arena at around 10.30ish, could be wrong though

Fess up guys...you know for a fact that when you load your '3 for 2' crates of supermarket booze into the boot of your car in May, its got diddly squat chance of making it anywhere close to July undrank

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
