I really don't. It's all good having great bands like James headlining but when you see outdated dross like Shed Seven, Dodgy and Feeder high up the bill, it's smacks a little of desperation and in my mind isn't too far way from having pointless nostalgia-driven tribute acts like nowaysis and The Complete Stone Roses, the excellent Semolina Pilchards obviously excluded!

Morning all,

This lovely weekend of weather hasn't half got me in the mood to hit the fields!

A quick one, what has the weather been like previously? Only concern is if it pisses down, do they have the means to keep up from turning into a complete mudbath? (woodchippings and such)

Also is it likely there will be anymore big names announced? Did anything come from the second announcement last year?

:)

i'll ask again cos shy bairns get nowt !

neil is there any chance of changing the forum so that we can start a few topics instead of a 540 post thread, theres still 4 months till the festival so i could imagine it going well over 1000 posts before the end, I know some of the main board festivals forums like Guilfest and Summer Sundae will have been lucky to have had 50 posts this year.

if it cant be done then so be it, im just asking

cheers

Tickets purchased with Thursday camping as well. Great to be going back and hopefully the weather is as good as last years.

Line up pretty good looking so far with a few big 90's bands. Hopefully the La's return this year for another sneaky acoustic set.

Working TITP this year so I will have 2 weeks to recover before Kendal.

Anyone else a little pissed off that you can't camp next to your car in Emperor Field anymore.....i'm pretty sure that this changed AFTER the ticket sale??

Also, catchin up on earlier threads re: other festivals, particularly Solfest....i'm really dissapointed about the line-up announcement so far! So much so, that i've devided to get tickets for Wickerman instead....anyone been to Wickerman before?

    • Crikey.   I remember Muse cancelling a Lolla headline set in 2017 due to a massive thunderstorm after only 3 songs. Clearly this is an area of the world where the storms don't f**k around.
    • I still think they might take another shot at the normal weekend.    I'm also pretty sure this exact same speculation was happening after the last one.
    • Meanwhile in Chicago. Rained overnight at Lolla. Now they pushed back opening til the afternoon. But thunderstorms and lightning forecast. Maybe if the city invested in proper drainage they couldve tried to salvage the day.
    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
