You can say what you like about Oasis, Beady Eye, Noel.

One thing is sure, and thats a topic about them never struggles to make a few pages, even in the off-season. Similarly, they'l get talked about and divide opinion at watercoolers and pubs across the land and beyond.

People are certainly bothered about them, one way or another. And given their last decent album was in the mid 90s, and were now in the teenies (or whatever you call the decade after the decade after the 90s), that says something about them, all on its own.

Pretty poor imo. I'm a pretty big Oasis fan but it goes nowhere really. The chorus is catchy a bit, but it's got no drive to it at all and the production once again with Dave Sardy is poor. Why NG decides time and time again to choose him I have no idea.

I can't believe that some Oasis fans have praised it whilst slagging off the Beady Eye record. I can only presume that their head is inputted so far up Noel's arse that they are still delusioned by the fact that Noel wrote everything good in Oasis. How anyone would believe that this is better than something such as 'The Morning Son' I don't know. That might be only because of Epworth's production in said track, but the finished track is just much better.

Though I will say I have no idea why some users bother commenting on a thread like this. I see Megabowl on every form of Oasis thread slagging em off. Honestly can't you accept that some people have different opinions to you and try not to force yours on to them? Why bother entering a thread about an artist you don't like time and time again to tell your opinion about them that they're shit? I'm pretty sure most members know this and don't need it repeating to them time and time again. I'll probably go onto that Viva Brother thread next to voice my displeasure at them but that'll be it then I'll leave it. I won't enter every single thread on them repeating my stance that they're garbage because frankly I can understand that some people like them.

I heard this song last night. There's nothing more to say other than what has already been said. Tedious, plodding and terribly predictable. I would actually say I prefer that beady eye one that sounds a bit like instant karma.

Both songs are utter gash of the highest order, of course.

2) It's a thread about Oasis. It relates to a new song that people were offering opinions on. I joined in. I used to really like them, I saw them many times in 95/96, however as a Mancunian living away from Manchester they're just an embarrassment now to me and the city. They've been utter shit, with the odd exception, for 15 years and yet they can sell loads of copies of the 'same old pub rock bollocks' because a load of dicks with Liam haircuts who've never moved their musical horizons beyond "Champagne Supernova" and barely been outside Droylsden/Moston/Little Hulton/Wythenshawe think it takes them back to 1995 and it's in any way a return to form. It makes me cringe and it kills me that to a lot of people they are the stereotype image of Manchester when someone like Doves have shown more invention in one track than Oasis managed in their whole career. However I understand that some people like them.

the thing with noel is, he's a big rock star at least in this country. even tho oasis haven't released anything new since 2008 and split up in 2009. he should of locked him self away and let liam get on with things but he hasn't. he did the draw for the f.a cup for pete's sake, he appeared on the sky sport soccer sunday program,the world cup show (when the world cup was on)and loads of others. its hardly very cool is it? now he's about to releases a new album.

to me it seems like he's never gone away, witch for me ruins some of the mystery you get from not hearing form an artist for 2 or 3 years then BANG there back. with noel it seems more like ermm yer just what i expected, up to now that goes for his music to.

oasis's last 2 albums were terrible. Lyla is one of the worst songs ever written.

Beady eye are abysmal. It is depressing to see the attention they get when there are a million better bands out there desperate for a breakthrough. I cant think of a worse band in the UK at the present time. Even the fratellis, the kooks and their ilk are more talented.

Still, I am guessing you are from the NW of england and as such probably are dressed head to toe in those grim overpriced clothes liam sells and walk like a chimp.

Regarding the last 2 albums, I would listen to your opinion if you had listened to either, but I some how doubt it seen as you hate Oasis so much.

I have heard both as both on release were billed as "their best album since definitely maybe". Neither were.

Oasis are a band with one decent album, and maybe a dozen decent tracks outside of that album.

However, being 18 in 1994 was a wonderful thing. The buzz around the band was huge and whenever live forever etc came on in the student clubs the place went off. I swear the music also helped loosen the elastic in girls knickers too as they certainly seemed to come down easier back in those days.

And then seeing the band at glastonbury in 1994 was massive. Oasis, blur, radiohead, pulp. All on the same day all on the same stage. Nick Cave too. Proper drugs, proper crowds and my youthful good looks. Great days.

Oasis always suffered in many peoples eyes as nothing they wrote was ever as good as the first album and they were always judged by this and every album they brought out was compared to that and thus was a dissapointment.
