Agreed you cant read much into managerial stats at international level, the nature of qualification seeding means there are a huge difference between the quality of sides. If you look at englands last group the other sides were probably all lower premiership/championship quality. England beating these sides really doesnt prove much. The likes of wales and scotland should be judged on qualifiers, but england and frnace should be judged on tournaments.

He brought on lots of the players on that list.

and lots he didn't.

Any successful well respected manager will come out defending him and slamming the FA.

e

even the shit ones too.

Simple fact is that no manager is going to step forwards and say "I'm happy to be undermined by my employer". What you've said there is as good as meaningless.

If he was treated properly, with the respect he or any other manager deserves

He was.

Any feeling that anyone might have today that the FA didn't have the right to ban Terry as captain (or even to play) is being daft.

If Capello thought it was something that was out of the possibilities then he's as stupid as 'Arry likes to pretend to be. A five minute history lesson would have put him right.

No managers job is to ONLY get the best result in whatever manner he can.

, and had a proper run and a chance to bring through the potentially great young players in the England setup it could've worked really well. England have no idea what they've missed. He wasn't even given four years!

I agree that there might have been an improvement via those younger players.

But they're in there only because Capello fucked up with the older ones, which makes him not the 100% class act you want to believe.

He was given all the time he wanted. It was his decision to quit. And he's only done that because he knew there was no hope of it panning out how you're thinking.

Said it before and i'll say it again, the English media don't actually want a successful England team. It's much easier to write about failure than success, and it certainly sells more copy in the long term. Until the FA grow some balls (pun intended) and actually defend the manager and his choices, we'll continue to make no progress.

when did you get to appoint employees into the company you work for company against the wishes of your employer?

And has the fact that you and no one else is permitted to do that ever caused a company to fail?

So how are things different within football? ;)

PS: i've absolutely no problem with the FA as the employer setting the rules over who can and can't be selected or appointed captain.

I do however have a problem over their lack of consistency about it.

But it's lucky we do have those rules. Else we might end up with Joey Barton as captain, with a younger Ian Brady in goal and a younger Ian Huntley on the wing. :P

I blame the players way more than Capello. Why are we in this mess in the first place? because Terry is a prize c**t who firstly couldn't keep his pants on, and then couldn't keep his potty mouth shut.

The world cup, another fucking mess that I blame more on the players than the manager. If these players can't motivate themselves for the biggest tournament on the planet then there's something rotten away in all of them. And again, that c**t Terry coming out and undermining the manager publically on television in the middle of a major tournament. He wasn't even the fucking captain. Who do these c**ts think they are!?

These are not little children he's coaching. These are adults who get paid a fuck load of money to act like retarded monkeys. I bet Capello hates the lot of them, probably thinks they're about as useful as an asshole on your forehead.

Its not. It proves that he was undermined.

he can only be undermined if he's the only one setting the rules. He never was, and if he thought he was he's a fool.

Hes protecting himself alright, but not for the reasons you say. Hes protecting himself because hes in a no win situation with a media out to get him and employers who aren't behind him.

How the fuck does the 'owner' of a 'club' end up being "employers who aren't behind him" by saying who is fit to represent that 'club' and who isn't?

The owners are always bigger than the manager, and the club is always bigger than the owners.

If Fabio thinks it's different to that, he's more stupid than 'Arry claims to be.

What I think it shows is that he's used the whole thing as a convenience to quit.

But the FA handled it like shit and he and the media have treated Capello like shit. I find it perfectly believable that Capello had had enough of being crapped on rather than left to maintain a record.

I don't disagree that the FA handled it badly. And i don't disagree that he's been treated like shit (tho I'd also say he deserved some of it too - heskey!!).

But what you've missed from that is one of the people who took the biggwest shit onto his head is the very man at the centre of this - Terry.

Has he really bailed out in defence of that c**t? C'mon, that would be madness. ;)

Chelsea have something to answer for as well. Wasn't it them who requested the court case be pushed back from March till after the Euros? Sure it serves them well but they must have known full well that it was going to shit all over England's preparations.

My feeling is the FA should have stripped Terry the moment he got charged. That way, instead of it undermining Capello and it coming across as bowing to media pressure, it's a reaction that sets a precedent that England captains can't be under criminal charges. Not a reaction that says "We'll piss about and not make our minds up until the media decides for us".

They set a precedent for these sorts of things over 10 years ago.

The problem is that the media put them under pressure to reverse it. And then the media put them under pressure to reverse that back again with Terry.

The FA are fools.

And even bigger fools are those who buy those shit papers and give the media that fickle-ally applied power.

Twattish blog post on the beeb with a few key lines that summarise the problem:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tomfordyce/2012/02/no_love_lost_as_capello_takes.html

"Stern in bearing and distant of character, he never cultivated or indulged journalists"

"The flaw with Capello was that he seldom seemed to enjoy England or its culture. As a club manager he never bought a single British player, let alone an English one. As an international coach he spent almost as much time on holiday or at home in Italy as at Premier League grounds."

"Capello not only never mastered English, he seldom sounded as if he wanted to."

Quite. Rooney's ban for swearing at the camera was an example of ridiculous succumbing to media pressure. Rooney's a twat, everyone knows that. But swearing at a football match isn't a crime.

It is, it's a crime against football's finances.

Not even the Prem can sell obsenities into every market.

Rather good article on the frenzy surrounding good ol' 'Arry

http://www.football3...98696/John-Nich

I just heard Mark Perryman* on 6music saying something similar. He pointed out that there was a seemingly unanimous clammer for Keegan** back in the day which weas a hugggggge error.

(* a name I only remember cos someone I know knows him. He's a big cheese in England fans or something)

(** but not from me. I always said he'd be a disaster. In fact I won £100 on just that :)).
