If you count elbowing Suarez in the face for 90 mins as well played then yeah, guess youre right. Dempsey played great aswell. Skillful the way he escaped a red card despite putting the nut right into Bellers face.

The Dutch national team are pretty well off, Vorm and Krul competing for their number 1 spot.

Delighted with how he's been though, he made a couple of dodgy decisions at the start of the season, but in terms of reflex saves, positioning for shots, claiming corners, he's been fantastic. He still seems to be improving as well.

Just gotta wait for Ashley to sell him in January...

Lucky thing is teams can only play one keeper so less demand.I cant think of any decent premiership sides in need of a keeper at present.

Chelsea? Cech hasn't been in form for a good few years.

We're probably safe from other Prem clubs nicking him, but if a German club with Champs Lge football came knocking I expect we'd lose him.

there's been newspaper rumours of Spurs going for Krul in January, as well as newspaper rumours of Chelsea selling Cech .... so I wouldn't get too attached to him just yet.

I think at present people are going a bit ott about krul, he may be an excellent keeper or may be having a purple patch, time will tell. However what sets apart the likes of reina and friedel from the carsons and greens of this world is long term consistency.

A certain right midfielder is the most capped outfield England international of all time, and widely lauded as one of England's greatest player and world class by various players, ex players, managers and pundits.

He still very definitely isn't.

Yeah, but unlike the opinions of Reina the ones of Lumpard are marmite.

Much like Reina is a fine goalkeeper. Though he isn't the best in English football at the moment and he's miles behind real greats like VDS and Buffon already mentioned, and Schmeichal, Banks, Zoff, Yashin, Jennings, Maier, or Casillias.

The thing is, who is the best in English football "at the moment" varies week-to-week dependant on what saves they make and who else messes up. Rob Green was the best once ... till the next match.

We could argue over who we each thought was the best, but of those currently playing in England and using the consistency across a number of seasons as the benchmark (as suggested by pinbk triangle) Reina is there or thereabouts.

Consistent? I'm amazed. Unless people are referring to him making mistakes fairly consistently? Albeit, to be fair, making many good saves in between.

Check out the gaffes he has made in the last year or so against Tottenham, my team, Steau, Argentina, Arsenal. Mistakes I wouldn't expect a division 4 keeper to make.
