The festival for 30,000 is the latest event to be announced by Maraworlds - the organisers of Festival Internacional de Benicassim, and will be held at the same site at the Benicassim Concert Venue near Valencia on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st July 2012, and will be devoted to the most energetic rock, hardcore and metal genres. Vince Power the Hop Farm organiser is the director of Maraworld.

The first acts confirmed are headliners Guns N Roses on Friday, and Marilyn Manson on Saturday. The line-up will feature three stages and more than 50 acts.

Two-day tickets include 4 days free camping from Thursday July 18th to Sunday 22nd. The campsite is located in the natural setting of the Las Palmas desert and is close and well connected to the beaches and village centre.

Early bird 4-day tickets are priced at £70 (including camping) for the first 5,000 tickets. To buy tickets

I'm thinking it's BS, but if it's not, Queen's day being more expensive would make sense. Can't really see them selling day tickets right away though - they've never done that before, especially as arena capacity isn't that much higher than camping capacity. Unless they are increasing it by a bit, I know they did last year to get some day tickets sold (few thousand), and I know the festival manager said they are going to be changing the layout of the arena a bit possibly

TITP do something similar where you can get sat/sunday tickets but I think Friday is only available to those there for the whole weekend. I don't think it'd be an impossible outcome, but we're believing a probably fake page here - one that said a month ago As I lay dying and Slash are playing - both who cannot play.

Machine Head, Combichrist, Wolfmother, Dagoba and Soulfly are supposedly being announced for Soni France tomorrow (amongst others I imagine), can see some of those ending up at the UK leg too, except Machine Head.

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
