I dunno if this has been mentioned - I'm still dozzy eyed after reading the weather thread - and can't be arsed to trawl through a back log, but I've been told that the Arctics are the surprise band playing the Park on the Friday. If this is common knowledge, then soz!

It certainly is the rumour that it is the Arctics on Friday and Pulp on Saturday. It will be interesting to see afterwards if this turns out to be correct.

I loved their early stuff but lost interest with the second album, personally. Some friends have mentioned that the new album is worth a listen but I just don't have the enthusiasm for them anymore.

Can anyone explain to me why marquee acts like Arctics and Pulp would not be announced in the standard way and given due billing? Both bands would be better in the dark and on a bigger stage. The crush on the Saturday will be most unpleasant.
