2012 Lineup

I'm not into a lot of the music Download gets but it's easily the strongest line-up out of the major UK fests this year.

O2 Wireless is shocking though. Absolutely appalling. This is a festival that used to book bands like The Strokes, New Order, The Who, Super Furry Animals, The Flaming Lips, Eels, Morrissey and Beck. Is there any act playing there this year that doesn't use auto-tune?

iow? you serious? third down bands vaccines, tinnie tempah and example! out of there undercard theres only biffy and elbow I would pay to see. If r&l had iow lineup there would be more of an uproar. DOwnload has a great lineup, just a pity its only a few weeks before rock werchter..

There's a variety of festivals so that R/L's top bands can play other festivals lower with the likes of Snow Patrol, New Order, Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher, Elbow and Skrillex can play above them? All bands that could play R/L but aren't.

Not sure of your point there.

BBC and The Vaccines will be great.

And I love the Latitude line-up too but most of the acts I like there are too small to have been announced yet anyway for Leeds. I'm quite impressed with the line-up because there are lots of acts I like and the NME/FR tents usually do more for me anyway.

Vaccines are third down at reading?!?!

To be honest there are a lot more bands I would avoid at Reading than Isle of Wight and only the Cure come slightly close to any of their headliners. And the other two they had last year anyway. Melvin Benns big selling point is his exclusives and he's been outdone in a massive way this year by Isle of Wight and has got sloppy seconds off them.

I know they have some shit pop bands there but that's basically what half the main stage bands announced at Reading this year are, dressed up as something they're not.

Just look at the variety of quality bands that are on there and try the same at the line up Reading have just been handed, its bland as fuck so far.

Im only going by what said on here so you could be right. I wouldnt mind that at all, tenacious should be int he comedy tent not a main stage imo.

Although checking back I will be in the tent getting a good place for the mighty at the drive in..

I thought it was the lineups as a whole vck? And your making yourself look silly(again) by claiming one of biggest of all time..with 2 albums.

Does that make reading a strong lineup with having foo fighters headline?

While I think the TITP line-up is weak I think there are bigger sticks to beat them with than the Roses. The fact their three outdoor shows sold out in 15 minutes is a testament to how huge they are. And that's not going into the amount of critical acclaim they've had for over 20 years. They are regarded as one of the greatest bands Britain has ever produced. The few albums they've put out means nothing, they are an absolutely massive band.

I, amongst others, have said that the three Reading and Leeds headliners are hugely strong.
