when was the lineup for Leeds announced last year? Normally do V but go my Leeds ticket in pre-sale last year. Glad the V lineup is poor, more likely to have good acts at Leeds.

I always think reading/leeds miss a trick by not booking bands who peaked in the late 90s like fun loving criminals, ocs, cast etc. Maybe im bias as I was a teenager then, however i still think you put these bands in the middle of the nme tent or high up in the fr tent and they would go down well. I often feel reading/leeds is a little obsessed with being percievd as trendy and down with the new bands.

Those have been high up on the bill (I can't check as I'm at work) if I remember, not in the middle.

Yeh I know not all of them are going to be trendy/indie, I guess there's only so many of them. Does NME actually have a say in the bands that perform?

The only acts I would take from V would be The Kaiser Chiefs, Primal Scream, Fun Lovin Criminals and The Manics.

I doubt I'd even go to V Fest if I won a ticket, it just looks awful.

As a second festival I was considering going to V but I'd rather go to Bloodstock and see W.A.S.P than most of the bands on V's line-up.

It doesn't really give us anything to go by anyway. It hasn't really told us anything more than we already know - Muse, MCR and The Strokes are probably headlining, and the undercard will probably be a bit like last year's, and we'll have a lot more bands to play with on the smaller stages than we will on the main stage.

I heard through the grapevine that Leeds & Reading are both going to be 'the' festivals of the year this year but I'm not overly enthusiastic about that being the case.

I thought they were really dull in 09. Maybe it wouldn't have seemed so bland if it hadn't have followed The Prodigy and all the chaos that brought but I was bored pretty much throughout their set. It was a shame because I was quite looking forward to seeing them.
