In fairness, the dates announced suggest that he has a substantial gap in his European schedule which is asking to be filled with festival dates. I'm not sure where he'd play now, though. He's previously headlined the Pyramid yet I couldn't see him being "big" enough at present to headline The Other. I saw him at Reading in daylight a long time ago and it didn't quite work. Could he headline the JP?

Well he has played a few times before and Glasto line ups do have a tendency to look like previous ones as people who have played before know what to expect. Here's hoping for a pre Chems slot on the Sunday Second Stage :D

Does say on his website -

moby has announced a first round of live dates for 2011, tickets are available at the ticket store here. sign up using the form at the top of the page to keep up to date with news of more live shows

And yeah that huge gap looks promising for some festivals anyway :D

Sounds like a dead cert to me for appearing in a field in the UK this coming summer.

I think it's very easy to overestimate his popularity. He's done nothing of note for a while, kind of slipped from the public consciousness. He'd be alright for the Glade though, I guess. Definitely not Other or Pyramid material though.

Can't remember if I saw him in 00, but he was amazing in 03, still ranks as one of my favourite Pyramid shows ever, and definitely my favourite Pyramid headliner.

Would be good to see him back there, wherever, whenever.

That's great, but he isn't big enough at the moment to headline the Pyramid or Other. That's not opinion, that's fact. You and your mates may want to see him above the headliners, but there's a lot more people who don't. Its how these things work.

anyone seen him recenlty? What are his setlists like?

I loved him when I was a slip of a lad in the 90s but wonder how much of his older stuff he plays these days? And I wonder, has Play dated terribly? I havent listened to it in years.

Whenever I hear porcelain it takes me back to some rudies I got up to with one of the finest looking ladies I have ever met. I wish I could remember her name and I would stalk her relentlessly on facebook (assuming the years have been kind to her, of course)

Would absolutely love to see him live, have been listening to his stuff a lot in the last few months, Play and 18 are awesome and even his most recent album is pretty good, quite different to his earlier stuff but still very decent.

I agree though, I've no idea where he'd play at glasto, no way in a million years is he popular enough to headline again and I can see him doing one of the smaller stages tbh.
