Mumford & Sons

Reckon they could headline the Other stage, depending on what other Acts are about.

If they did, I would have a decision to make, any night except Friday. I usually see the Headliners, unless there is a band I really really want to see.

Remember Franz headlined the Other stage when Bruce was playing in 09. So there is no way Mumford would not be able to pull a crowd... especially at Glasto which really suits their folky vibe.

I am NOT suggesting they should headline a big, open-air stage BUT didn't The Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes headline main stages at the biggest UK festivals on the strength of one album? The amount of people trying to see them in the tents at Reading and Glasto last year made it uncomfortable and scary in places so they can't do that again. I saw them on their tour just over a year ago and they were absolutely brilliant. Whether they still would be without new material, I can't say but some of the comments here are clearly of the "Oh, they're popular so I hate them" variety, or at least are demonstrating a level of ignorance.

They'll be halfway up the otherstage/pyramid. They will get swamped by the size of the stage/field and people will be on here in July saying "well I was really disappointed by mumford and sons". It will be like the fleet foxes all over again.

If Arcade Fire play I can see Mumford third on the Other that night (the timings will mean a fair clash). As AF seem to be on the verge of becoming 'Radio 1 cool' that clash will give the scenesters a massive headache

Got mixed feelings on these guys. They are not at all folk music, they are poppy sing-a-long chart stuff, can't see their second album making much of an impact. However, I do really like quite a few of the songs off Sigh No More.

But how did that chubby c*** bag Laura Marling?! Lucky git.

Funny, but not long after I first started lurking round here there was a thread talking about how good Mumford & Son were, how much everyone loved the album and hoped they were at Glasto. Given that they haven't released any new material since then, it's funny how a little bit of success seems to change everyones opinion.
