their saying at their tour they announced they'd play one festival but didn't say which (in Summer)

this leaving Download or Leeds/Reading

and i very much doubt they'd go to Download soo

With Download confirming there final headliner next wednesday (23rd Feb) that should then automatically reveal if the will be headlining R+L. However, if they are announced for Download that leaves us with more guessing and probably a massive surprise!

Who cares? Really? Yeah perhaps they're not big enough to headline but they're certainly not the worst act to headline. Chances are MCR will be around for a good while rather than some of the flash in the pan headliners we've had in the past. I'd happily bet that if they do headline they'll get a bigger crowd than Arcade Fire did, which is quite ridiculous but I could see it being true.

But Reading and Leeds are two festivals, and MCR are only headlining one festival .

But yeah, I doubt they're Downloads headliner. Mind you pretty much every logical guess for Download has been ruled out at some point by the organisers so it's not impossible...

No, they confirmed at a gig on 12th feb that they were booked to headline 1 UK festival. leaving R+L or Download. Majority have tipped them for R+L

Blink 182 cant sell out arenas either and they headlined the festival. It should also be noted that while blink 182 and mcr arena tours are not sold out, mcr have a far bigger band as the main support act.

I suspect Arcade fire would also struggle to sell out an arena tour.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were announced for download, but I guess it will be released later this month. If you haven't read the download boards before i suspect it could be MCR because Copping (download band booker) has ruled out a number of headliners (although he is often untrustworthy) and because the headliner will be released with several other bands, which could mean they are a smaller band.

If MCR are announced for Download this board will go crazy with new predictions, but somehow I doubt it will happen.
