Grooveshark has a much wider database of music compared to Spotify I find, plus the fact it's an internet page is a lot better. However, it's nowhere near as well-organised as Spotify but it still houses most of the other benefits. No adverts either!

grooveshark has more music, i think anyway, like the bands that wont let spotify have them. And it also has LOADS of remixes if you like that kind of thing.

I'd say its not as nice to use but thats purely because its done in a browser not an application. You can log in and have all your playlists though. oh and no audio adverts :)

Possibly, it is a bit vast. I picked 5 per artist purely as the "Top Hits" listed by spotify, but trying to ignore where artists have 3 versions of the same song. The list would be shorter with 3 per band but if you're listening on random it should work out as the same chance of getting something from each act? Anyone else have an opinion on 3 v 5?

I've temporarily (hopefully) removed the collaborative option on the playlist:

Roughly 400 songs had been removed from it, so I'm trying to restore it, luckily I'd taken a copy of the original so hopefully it won't take too long to figure out what's missing. I urge anyone who wants to edit the playlist, or who finds acts like Asian Dub Foundation, Crystal Fighters or Don McLean (just some of the artists wiped) not to their taste to make their own copy and edit appropriately.

If anyone spots any ommisions (or has suggestions for better songs than selected) please either message here or PM me, cheers!

Cheers for all the hard work Pete. I'm trying to listen to as much as possible before the service is curtailed, although I keep losing my place in the playlist as you add songs back to it!

I can only hope that whoever are removing the songs are mistakenly thinking that they're only editing what appears on their computer. I'd hate to think that someone would deliberately ruin your palylist.

Cheers, I'm done now - sorry for the interupted listening :P

Think I'll leave it uncollaborative for the moment, though I fully welcome suggestions and where I've got things wrong.

Re spotify service, my partner suggested that people could maybe create new accounts whenever they'd reached the 6 month point where they start imposing restrictions?
