OMG this makes me nearly as happy as if Gaga were announced.

This woman deserves all the credit and respect she gets. A successful writer before launching her own career, writing for Rihanna, Alicia Keys and a song that she planned for her own album being robbed by Miley Cyrus. Not only that but she has a heart condition which meant that she was in hospital the day that it was announced that she had won the critics choice award. She has also had at least one stroke - she's in her early 20's! All of this means that unlike other artists she cannot rely on alcohol and drugs to pep her up before she performs and everything you see of her is pure unadulterated talent.

Sorry to go on, but I think she gets no where near enough musical credit. She is not just another manufactured 'pop princess'.

Rant over

Whilst I agree that the real talent in music is writing - music or lyrics - and should be more highly regarded, "We also need more confident lesbian singers out there to help rid the industry of overt homophobia." is the sort of line that utterly defeats the idea of equality.

Whether someone is gay, straight, asexual, or turned on by sheep is about as relevant as whether the songwriter/performer's favourite colour is red, pink, green or blue, i.e. it isn't. By highlighting the issue, you're just making it an issue, which for true equality it shouldn't be.

Example: A couple of gay friends, one of them does interior design. I'd never let him anywhere near my house as I don't like his stuff. Another one is an IFA. She does all my financial planning as I respect her abilities. Who they fancy or f**k has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Are you saying I could be a pop star!? I'm ringing the X-Factor :D

    • Do you think they'll release today's cupra pulse lineup?
    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
    • I sacrificed the first hour of the cure for Role model yesterday and oh man that was a good bet! That guy and his band are insanely good and an hour long only bangers!
