There's almost always a significant amount of do$h to be saved for very little effort if you're sensible and do a bit of homework around 3 months or so before Glasto :) Keep an eye on the "Glasto Questions" board around that time as there's usually a thread over there with hints/tips/advice to avoid getting screwed over by train companies various !

Last year we stayed at the campsite right next to the West Carpark enntrance, as in the next gate along the road was the carpark! Perfect.

Travelodge up the road for the Monday afterwards, the drive home to Northumberland would be lethal without it!

Just booked the Heapheys B&B in Glastonbury town on the Tuesday night. Never stayed over before the festival but decided this year. Whats Glastonbury town like on the Tuesday night? Full of people, busy pubs?

Cheers

I forgot about the meetup, so we ended up at another pub. Maybe someone can help me sort out which pub it was? It was near where Magdalene and High Streets come together. Food was really expensive, but great. The only edible burger I've ever had in England

There were several tables and benches available outside.

My mate got our group a cottage near Wells, as no-one is around to do us breakfast we're getting a discount!

Going to go down the back roads from there.

Plan to take the van again this year. Took it the year before last (camped last year) and had decided not to bother again but with the entrance on Tuesday for campervans and the new West Campervan field I have decided to give it another go.

The dilemma is that if we dont get a campervan ticket or our van dies then it will be too late by April to book digs.

Will all work out though no doubt. The beauty about booking time off work before and after the festival is that one way or another it will come together even if not the way I planned.
