Great link, amazing to see how it was put together.

"Arcadia is a synchronised pyrotechnic stage and lightshow sculpture arena featuring world class bands and deejays and illuminated by lasers, intelligent lighting, water jets and flamethrowers and is built from military and NASA scrap, primarily jet engine components.

Deejays and bands play live surrounded by what must be the most incredible spectacle of light, smoke and flame on the planet, as tens of thousands of people dance in an ecstasy of ritual theatrics and shamanic pyrotechnics.

Think Heironymous Bosch meets Mad Max versus ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and you’re getting somewhere."

What an awesome description! If only every nightclub was like this...

In the four years i have done glastonbury i have never bothered with going to Arcadia, althogh i did walk through the area this year and could not really see what all the fuss was about. The link to this site is very interesting,so maybe i will have another look in 2011 if its there again. Could be though its not for us oldies  ,proberbly be happier with a pint in my hand listening to some proper music ;) .

It looks OK during the day, a bit ramshakle and 'naff' mad max. The place really comes alive after dark and all of a sudden things you thought were a bit naff, now look absolutely spectacular! Detail just appears in the flame light.

The problem is that after the main stages shut, there is a cram/queue to get in for about 2 to 3 hours.

Its not open Thursday night in its full glory!
