They're predicting -7 degrees and 333mph winds for Sunday, so we should get an idea of their accuracy by then. They got it right last year though didn't they? Everyone else was predicting sun, but they had rain, so I stayed at home and laughed at all you fools who went.

They didn't predict rain last year. Checked Metcheck each morni8ng at the fest, and they got everything spot on for each day.

Mind you, there wasn't much in the way of weather to predict last year. A better judge is wet years, where each day they get the rain spot on, including the amount and the times of it - which they've done.

As I keep saying, their predictions for the day on that day are more accurate than other weather services I've checked.

3) I am very interested in taking you up on your bet. Do really have that much faith in Metcheck? I wouldn't trust them to predict yesterday's weather. How's about a nice hot cinamon cider as a wager?

yep, bet on. :)

I'll make sure I grab a copy each day of the festival for that day, and you need to find another weather service which gives a more accurate prediction for that day's weather.

ECMRWF chart for week Friday. This is the model with the best track record for predicting at this sort of range, it's what is was specifically designed to do.

Looking good B)

Ok, the 06Z run isn't great either. Wet throughout, apart from a bit of clear sky Saturday and Sunday early morning. Looking like the wettest stuff will be for Sunday night and packing up tents Monday morning

Still plenty of time for it to change though!

    • No worries, it's a perfectly fair question to ask. I would expect people to be talking at the back & near the bars & that is where I would want them to be talking. If your group are enjoying yourselves & the music & briefly chatting to say how much you are loving a certain song etc, you would be an ideal group to stand behind.   My issue is with people having full blown conversations (usually unrelated what is on the stage) whilst being surrounded by people who are trying to listen to the music. This was happening in the middle and towards the front of all stages, & so you have limited options to move around & you may have spent 20 minutes waiting for the band trying to get the closest position that you can. If there's a group of 8 people, there may be 2 or 3 that like the band & the rest will start talking if the music isn't their thing. This may be the norm now for festivals, and if it is, that's ok & I will focus on a band's own gigs & UK based new music festivals.    I'm also not including consequences of my own decision making. I saw Geese on Wednesday so went to Occident after Men I Trust finished so it was understandable there would be chatting that far back. Similarly, getting to The XX after Olivia Rodrigo along with most of the site, I knew my chance of a good spot & a chat-free zone had gone so that was completely reasonable.   PS. I went to Bilbao BBK in 2023 & 2025 & enjoyed it. For Pulp & Kylie in 2025, I got a position early & was surrounded by a respectful & fun crowd for both. The UK non-headlining bands tend to go on the undercover 3rd stage, & most people like to congregate outside so you can usually get close to the front of that stage.
    • Interview on 6 music earlier, was going to get the album to have a listen, but comes out the day they play the festival
