WTF indeed, I did laugh outloud when I logged on, has just made me even more convinced that actually no one knows until a couple of days before, had one heavy shower today on Bodmin Moor, rest of the day great, but supposed to be wet all day by some forecasters! after 25 trips to Glastonbury I go with the what will be will be, and whatever it is, we will all still be going! but keep the thread going, Im reading it just for the laughs now :)

If you think we had anything approaching "torrential" rain in 2008, then that must've been your first year. Certainly you can't have been within a hundred miles of Worthy Farm in 2005 or 2007.

2008 we had a bit of light rain for a few hours on Thursday late afternoon / evening. Then basically no notable rain for the rest of the fsestival. Even that tiny amount of water still had a big impact on the site, with grass disappearing rapidly.

I don't appreciate these attempts to justify that any amount of rain is acceptable at Glastonbury. It's not. Ever. Rain plus feet equals Mud. That's just basic science.

NFRNFC.

JackOne: Based on the overall pattern and on today's charts, and scale scale of 0=dustbowl and 10=washout I would so for a 6, as overall there remains a higher possibility of a damp or wet festival. With perhaps a damp unsettled festival, the likely outcome at the moment.

GFS: Rain.

TWO: Light showers

Dutch:Showers onWed, rain on Thu (that's as far as it goes)

Meteo: Pretty much dry until Friday (that's as far as it goes)

PositiveWeather Solutions: No update

GFS Ensemble: No consistency, but not terrible (but that's what you expect from an ensemble this far out)

Met Office: Rain(not a true daily update yet)

ECM: Not yet in range

Norwegians: Not yet in range

Normal caveats apply:

1) I know a bit about weather, not a lot about weather

2) You can't predict the weather with any accuracy for more than three days

3) Based on Point 1, Point 2 might be incorrect

this pattern has been locked in for a long time now even on charts for 2 weeks away, The euro model ECM upto Tuesday also has the greenland high still there, I am afraid my optimism is diminishing rapidly :(

Somerset has a bright blue sky and the land is so bright, this is such a strange thing for us to see that everyone is running to the shops and stocking up on bread and milk, we think the world is about to end. ;)

    • I too am always a bit blurred on what/who constitutes a legend slot but would Sting fit that bill?  Those there said his IoW slot was v good and he has enough of a songbook imo for a Sun afternoon if he uses the Police's 1st 2 albums for a fair chunk of it
    • Thing is, I'd have said that as well.   But then she inexplicably ended up on the Wilderness lineup and that changes everything. I reckon if that goes well, which it will, then she's very much in the picture.
    • This has probably been discussed a hundred times already on efests but what constitutes a legend? I know some of it is my age but I don't see eurithmics or Duran Duran as legend status. Neil young or nils lofgren then yes and neither of them have overly troubled the charts. Duran Duran and indeed the eurithmics I would put in the 80s category and whilst it would be ok (human league at isle of wight we're fabulous) they just arent in my mind legend status.  Zombies played same festival- i would take that.
    • friendly tonight delayed , pitch draining pretty quick to be fair .... not sure it bodes well for other games with potential fixture backlog
