Waking up to the sound of rain on the tent? Marvellous! :)

Dampen down the dust first thing in the morning, and an overcast start to the day is always a good thing to stop your tent turning into a superheated sweatbox... last thing you need after a late late one.

Personally, I'm hoping for a nice weathery mix over the course of the festival.

Yes, the weather can make for a different kind of festival, but I've always managed to find more than the fair share of positives no matter what the conditions.

Come prepared. :)

Not that I wish to worry anyone, but....

Glastonbury fence starts going up on Friday, by Friday night April's drought is well and truly broken with spectacular thunderstorms. Mere coincidence?

For what it's worth my weather request is

  1. No Rain, during and before the festival.

  2. Warm sunshine, NOT last year'scruel and merciless sunshine.

  3. Nice cool mornings for catching up on sleep.

  4. No rain. Worth repeating, it's important.

  5. Early morning mist, because it's pretty (and gives the sun something to do other than make my tent unbearably hot)

After not having a very wet one since the horror of 2007 I really don't want lots of rain this year. Wet and manky tent, wet socks, no lush green grass to sit on last year =NOOOOOOOOOO!

I am involved in the heating/air-con industry, my company pays for several premium rate forcasting services and all are coming back with a VERY HOT SUMMER, starting towards the end of may and running through to at least the 2nd week of july............... temps across the country of 30 deg C plus. :):):):D:D

Bit out of date that (hopefully), the general consensus seems to be that early summer will be very hot, including June. The Netweather forecast today will say that hopefully, or I'm gonna start to worry!

with many tears i had to cancel my glasto ticket, but i have an offer for the weather gods. any precipitation that would ordinarily be going to somerset at the end of june is welcome to stay here with me for that week.

My friend's coming again this year. She is a rain goddess - 'unusual' weather conditions follow her around the globe e.g. it rained in the Nazca desert when she was there, first time in 100 years. But, no panic, she actually has a balancing effect at Glasto, hence the superb weather last year. That's my theory anyways :D

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
