Not really on the same scale as others here, but damn annoying all the same. We were sat round our tents mid morning on Sunday and a blonde older lady approaches us and explains how it's her first Glasto, she is leaving today, has loads of stuff and could she 'hire' our sack truck. She even offered her iphone as collateral. We were not long from heading off, so we somewhat reluctantly agreed to let her borrow it as long as she returned it later. Yes, you guessed it, it never did return. In my world, that is stealing and we had to do 2 very uncomfortable walks back to the car on Monday morning. As I said, not on the same scale as having cash pinched, but still not on.

We were camped by the Pyramid, Row mead I think. Because of the sun and horrendous queues to get in, we were all sleeping by 11 o'clock....unheard of for us normally on the first night!! I woke up at 3am to find my handbag gone :( I had slept with it literally next to my face. The scumbag had come in through the porch, into mine and my boyfriends bedroom bit and taken the bag, sat there and gone through every single compartment and took all my cash :(

They left my phone, cashcard and camera...all things that I would have been devastated to lose. So could have been worse.

The same night they took all the money from another of our party....and the following night she woke up to someone going through her jeans <_< When she confronted him he apologised and said he was looking for Julie?!!

This was my 5th Glasto, and the first time any of my lot have had anything stolen. I wasn't bothered too much about the money, annoyed more than anything, but I was really creeped out that someone had been into my tent and been rifling around by myt face while I slept.

Hey ho, these things happen, and like I said it could have been much worse. I firmly believe what goes around comes around...I hope whoever it was gets what they deserve :D

I refused to let it ruin my Glasto though, and had the most amazing week :D:D:D

Although we had nothing major stolen my sister was sleeping with her 9 and 11 year old daughters and woke up with their tent unzipped (porch and bedroom door), the only thing stolen was one of the girls' new straw hats. It's easy to replace the hat it's not so easy to replace the feeling of feeling safe in your tent without someone coming in during the night though...

it's a shame for everyone who had things stolen. i would be totally gutted.

we were camped in pennards at and didn't have any trouble apart from some arsehole jumping on bunter's tent and breaking one of the poles.

my tent is always a mess, i think it would put someone off taking anything if they have to spend ages going through all my stuff. my valuables are always on me, and when i'm sleeping my bag is either used as a pillow or it's right next to my face. i don't sleep that well at festivals and i'm sure i would wake up if someone came into my tent.

Camping in Dairy Ground - overheard some conversations about tent thieves the Wednesday evening. But we had no problems

Our tents were entered last year on Pennards, our first such event in 10 Glastos.

What I do now is put a spiders web of string across my entrance, and entangle a chair in amongst it. Then with my inner zip I carabiner the two zip ends together. Then my wallet is in a bum bag which is in turn fastened around the pillow inside a pillow case

Hundreds of tents in the Dairy and Pennards were raided also robbed the Oxfam site.

Friend had £200 stolen on the Thursday night. Police said it was as bad as the pre-wall days, there were several thousand reports and they had made over 20 arrests. Professional gangs entering or slashing tents early in the morning, told us to sleep with all our belongings in the

bottom of our sleeping bag.

Police were trying to be helpful but could not record our theft, you have to go to the

site near the farm to make an official report and get an incident log number. Many of these crimes are going unrecorded as in most cases money is not insured and folk cannot be

bothered to walk the distance to the police site.

I definitely recommend a money belt. I kept all my money in the belt and never kept more than £20 at a time in my wallet. The belt was never bulky and barely noticed wearing it, but gave great peace of mind the entire weekend.

We were camped in Pennards in a group of about ten tents and my friend who was camped in the middle got his whole tent and all the contents of the tent stolen on the Thursday night! This is not an exaggeration...someone must have literally unpegged his tent and walked off with it. We came back to the tents around 3am to a big space in the middle of all our tents, we thought someone must be playing a joke but we searched in the vicinty and could not find the tent. We reported it and the stewards/police couldn't believe someone would steal a whole tent plus everything in it......fair play to my mate though he got on with it and didnt let it get him down, we found space for him in our tents and he slowly replaced his clothes he had lost, just thought it was such a strange thing to happen.....the tent never did turn up!

I decided not to put stuff at the bottom of my sleeping bag as the weather was so hot many people took them off as it got warmer while they were not fully awake.

Best to use the lock ups but and take out so much money each day (also best to leave some items there before you go to sleep but that's easier said than done if you're in no fit state to think about it before you sleep)

Also best to take the sim card out of your camera if you don't need to use it as the images are priceless and cannot be replaced. I am never brining my iphone to Glasto again, I spent too much time worrying about it being stolen (thankfully it was not).

I found a handbag. Had car keys, phones, money, etc in it.

Both phones were locked but there was an incoming call which I could not answer so I called them from my phone and they collected the bag from me where we arranged to meet. They were so happy to see the car keys and camera and gave me a little reward to say thank you :)

Unfortunately we got done this year. They came in our tent while we where asleep and grabbed my fiance's bag, took the money, left the bag, zipped the tent back up and left. Her first ever trip as well - sucks.

Still - it's amazing how people rally round when something goes wrong. We went straight to the cash point and had an awesome week, determined not to let it spoil it. Some people suck.

    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
