yeah, they'll still pay the full £50m, unless part was performance related but haven't read anything that it is.

and just for you as he's signed on for another year

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,

Feared by the blues, loved by the reds,

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs.

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, running down the wing

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, crosses like The King

Beats one and two, beats three and four,

He will score, he will score, he will score.

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, greatest ever goal

Semi-Final Villa Park, ran right through them all

Beat half the team, straight in the net

Won't forget, won't forget, no we won't forget.

:P

as above, they'll owe Liverpool another £40m regardless (or £30m if he'd been there two seasons and flopped, ie. already paid £20m), so will depend on if they have faith he'll turn it around or whether better off to sell him and recoup something before he approaches/turns 30 where value will drop pretty significantly.

I'd presume the installments would stay at £10m a year even if he was sold on before fulfilling his 5 year contract, so if they sold him after 2 years for say £35m, they wouldn't have to immediately give £30m of it to Liverpool, just £10m, and £10m the following two years.

Hmmm, if you believe that you'll believe anything, I suspect both deals were done completely in isolation to each other, stuff like that is just made up by fan boy internet goons

I very much suspect we'll never know quite what was paid or the terms.

Wouldn't put it past liverpool being sly c**ts though ;)

Hmmm, wouldn't be surprised if that was just spin to try to lessen the "How much?!" on Carrol news. Why on earth would they not sell Torres for 50 million if CFC were willing to pay it! IF Newcastle had sold him for 5, would you have taken 20?! No chance

If they werent tryig to get as much for Torres as they could, whilst picking up Carrol for the minimum, I fear for you!

only saw bits of the game, but i'm hearing really bad things about bebe?

how much did he cost?

all of the team was dreadful - it would be quite unfair to pick on just Bebe. And to be fair to him, he showed a few things along with being dreadful that might just mean he's decent enough.
