Don't understand how this is a good deal for Newcastle or Liverpool. 35million is a ridiculous amount for a unproven premier league striker, but Newcastle have no time to get a replacement in and leaves us very short up front for the rest of the season. We'll never get a better offer for Carroll, but there will never be a worse time to sell him either

it's a good deal for Newc cos Ashley will put it in his pocket.

My take on Ashley is that he doesn't much care if they go down again - by being the miser he's most likely to re-coup his investment, particularly as they have such a big stadium that is mostly full. Remember, this is the guy who was happy enough to sell up and walk away until he realised he'd only get a pittance.

He scored a couple of good goals this season and is clearly very good in the air. But, is that it?

In my mind, that is it. The new Big Dunc.

I can't see him being a bigger success in the Prem than Kenwyn Jones, who I see as a similar player - tho I'd say (from the little I've seen of Carroll) that he's probably got a bit more pace than Jones.

"£35m on someone who's currently injured after falling off a casino stool while drinking Jagerbombs."

Another rumour is that Torres will be sold for 48M + Anelka.

I just cant see Liverpool paying 35M for Carroll. It feels like there is another twist to be had on that one although stranger things have happened.

    • You can judge who you want to get a high slot next with the Lolla headliner performances from the weekend. Cause people think Tate Mcrae is the best thing out there for some reason. And some other cool acts, plus you can laugh at how bad the camera work is cause disney is cheap.
    • Fontaines getting the honour of the last ever BBC Maida Vale session going out on 6 Music shortly.   No Glastonbury relevance (for now.. ), just thought I'd mention it for those who are interested 😎
    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
