he's bartering.

correct - and he's having to do that because there is no properly operating market via which an absolute price in relation to the market can be determined.

Just because an economist cannot assess a fixed market price does not mean that it is any less of a market.

from all concepts of economics, it does.

Is a wrongly defined concept of post-modernism the correctly defined concept of post-modernism? .... of course it's not.

You're doing nothing different here, and you're showing that you don't have a f**king clue what you're talking about by doing that.

I agree with Jump, this is besides the point of the thread just as it was when you began with it.

If I'm being besides the point, then you were no less in saying that the price is determined by the trends in sales of other players. There are no identifiable trends, as recognised by academic study of football transfers by economists.

Please do keep displaying your gross ignorance. The more you do, the more you prove yourself a fraud. :)

Real's bid for Ruud van Nistelrooy has gone tits so they are getting Adebayor on loan instead.

well, if the lazy git can't motivate himself to play at a consistent level for Real, then there's really no hope for him. I'd say it's his last chance to be thought of as a footballer of the highest levels.

aah right. i did wonder, thought neil was out of touch for a bit there.

PMSL - yep, I was talking about Adeybayor, and not Ruud. There's lots of things people might say about Ruud, but lazy isn't one I've ever heard as far as I can remember.

yeah i thought he was really going to come into his own for man city but seemed to all go wrong. can't really see him being seen as a top striker now.

He's a talent, there's no doubt about it - but consistency has always been a problem. Like you, I thought he might have fired into life at City, but he seems to have gone the other way (tho what happened at the ACoN's can't have helped).

I can't really see him being a top striker now either, but I suspect that his time at Real will be his last chance to show whether he is or not.

aye, babels another one who i thought was showing some good signs at the start of his liverpool stint but has gone so far back as well!

i think a change of league would be the best for him.

and what's going on at middlesbrough? how key are the two players that they've just lost? and who's in to replace them? bring back cbc!

Sky's coverage has been tired for years - it's needed a makeover, now is perfect opportunity.

It's never been anything but tired. The much lauded super-special graphics they had when they launched added nothing at all to all the coverage from other broadcasters from the decades before it.

But it's starting to sound like plenty of people within Sky hated Gray with a vengeance, given how he's been dropped in the shit by insiders, to make the original comments public as well as the "new evidence of unacceptable and offensive behaviour" which has caused him to be sacked today.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
    • Yeah Roy's Tune was lovely. Looking forward to the whole thing hopefully going on iPlayer.   It's scattered dates they have this year really, proper tour/s to come next year - suspect a new single will drop in the next couple of months, providing the album is done.
