I don't think they're hoping to get any cash, I think that many think they genuinely believe that they think its a viable option! Do you? Seriously?!?!?

It looks to me as an idea they've come up with jokingly, and having kicked it around a little it's grown legs a little, and some are believing it's maybe a possibily to take forwards - because of how much it'd hurt H&G.

So it's really just a joke with legs that might see it happen, but not something that's being done in the belief that the people who might be involved with it have really suffered any damage (tho they'd of course have to play up that they have for the case to succeed).

You claim you're not an LFC fan, you obviously have a big soft spot for them, if this was Utd, you'd be going mad with joy!

I used to support them as a kid (that's not new news here), but the sympathy I have for their plight is due to them being shafted as they are being. I'd feel little different for Utd, but less so for their fans who have often been too supportive or excusing of the Glazers.

Yes H+G haven't run things well, but have they really f#cked LFC over? Take out what was an incredibly lucky champs league win in 05, and what would their record under H+G look like in comparison? Given their second place finish in the league 2 years ago i'd say it's better. They gave lots of money to Rafa in the early part of their reign, that in the most part he wasted. During this time Rafa pretty much killed the LFC youth academy. Then when the credit crunch hit everyone, and their money dried up, they found that the squad that Rafa had built just wasn't good enough and there was no youth to replace them. For me Rafa f#cked over LFC far worse than H+G.

I'm more on about the trickery they've been up to in the last week than anything else.

As for Rafa, I'm yet to settle on how much blame is directly his for their on-field plight. Without knowing what he's been directed to do from above it can't really be known what is directly his fault and what isn't, tho undoubtedly he's guilty of some bad transfer decisions (but to keep it in perspective so is, for example, Fergie - I was reminded by something I read last night about just how much he paid for Anderson, for example). The deep pockets available to someone like Fergie mean that any mistakes he makes are less crucial to what happens to that club than was the case for Rafa.

Rafa bought Robbie Keane for 19m.

Rafa bought Aquilani for 17m.

Rafa bought Dossena for 7m.

At the end of the day, that's of very little difference to the believe LFC fans had in the words of H&G on arrival.

Going back to Rafa's signings - would say he's made a lot lot worse than Fergie has, Fergie does seem to get more bad press for his failings though - e.g djemba djema and veron compared to Rafa got over some of the crap players he brought over the years - e.g. that ayala guy

Going back to Rafa's signings - would say he's made a lot lot worse than Fergie has,

that's something I don't dispute, but it's still far from clear if there was pressure on him from above to essentially run the strength of the squad down. I doubt things will ever be clear enough so that one version is believable over another.

It is however definitely the case that the biggest run-down in squad strength happened during the time that he was bringing money into the club with his transfer dealings, rather than spending their money.
