Will my flag get stolen?

Hello

This is the family's first year at Glastonbury; 2 boys (20 & 17), wife & me in a camper van...mixed emotions already but I am sure it will be fun.

So I have bought a flagpole and confederate flag, nothing too fancy, to get into the swing of things.

But someone at work seemed to think that sometime over the weekend it will be stolen.

I have read a few other threads and people talk about their flags coming back year after year, and those flags look far more sophisticated than mine.

So should I be taking it down every time we leave the van or are Glastonbury folks more trustworthy?

Your thoughts would be appreciated...

i think a confederate flag has more chance of being pulled down than any other...

but not in the campervan field. surely not. should be fine.

There will be thousands in campsite, campers are generally honest people; Glasto Campers are

warm and honest, get to know your neighours and look after each other...

i will be looking in the campervan field for a confederate flag .dont beleive all you hear glastonbury is the dogs mate .have a good time

i put a cuddly dog on top of a pole a few years ago. the doggy went off for a walkabout on friday, but returned to the tent, slightly muddy, on the sunday night. i'm sure he had quite an adventure. don't worry, all will be good!

I've taken flags every year I've been, and there's been a couple of attempts at stealing them but none succeeded.

I would say though that as your flag represents something that a sizeable proportion of the population finds offensive, it is less likely to survive the festival.

Nah your flag should be fine. We have one at the tent every year (in fact our group has several!) & never had any problems.

Just me that had it stolen then? I think it's something about having a Yorkshire flag, we've had 3 stolen at separate festivals over the years...

Seen alsorts of flags and spinners etc that have lasted the duration in the campervan fields so i wouldn't be concerned.

I took my "I love Sausage" flag last year but it was stolen on the first day. Surprised I didn't see it later on during the festival as it was quite large.

last year i bought a flag of a shifty looking bloke for a tenna; it had 'I love Sausage' on it. It was a bit big to cart around so i sold it on for a profit. Am i scum?
