Foals, Editors, Scissor Sisters... or England v Germany (maybe) in the world cup? I think I may be making my way up to the park. I think that there will be a lot of people doing this, especially if the weather is good. The football haters may not like it, but I reckon a lot of people will want to watch the football and consider Glastonbury just about the perfect place to do it.

England will only meet Germany on Sunday if they come 2nd in their group and Germany win theirs. I think it is more likely that England will play Serbia on Saturday.

England v Germany on the Sunday will be chaos, england v serbia/ghana/aus on the saturday will not pose a problem due the other acts on.

Baring in mind the sunday game is on at 3pm it cant solely be shown at the park!!!!!!!!!

if it's england v germany then i'll watch it (especially as the other option is watching foals  ) but if it's serbia then i'm sure i'll find something else. this'll probably be the view of many, so it depends on who we get i reckon. it'll never reach 100k though!

That's what I thought, big screen(s) up the hill behind the park and so on was the last info I saw being bandied around. I'm sure it could and no doubt will get a bit silly if it does turn out to be a very important and/or mega popular match mind you.

But personally, I don't care who's playing who or where and when as I have absolutely 0% interest in footy I'm afraid. The only positive aspect for me is that the more fans watching the footy, the quieter it will be elsewhere where I will be enjoying whatever it is I happen to be enjoying  I'm all for showing the game(s) somewhere for those who are interested in watching but it better not be taking over the festival so to speak and disrupting the *REAL* reason for actually being there in the first place ;) Footy at the Pyramid on Weds is fine, just as it was last time there was an Eng-er-land game on at Glasto but I for one will be seriously p!$$ed off if anything Glasto-related gets b*ggered around with too much just to enable footy to be shown to those who want to watch 22 peeps kicking a stupid ball around !

I don't have a clue who is playing - where they are playing - when they are playing or what they are playing for all I know I will be avoiding it like the plague including shifting the TV set in our Village tent as far away as possible from where I will be working.

I have never watched it on the TV as it holds no interest at all.

I cant work out why people would go to a Arts and Music Festival and then spend their time watching a football match.

Unnecessary scare-mongering by the OP.

If GFL genuinely thought there would be a problem, they probably wouldnt show it at all.

Absolutely rubbish that 100,000 people are going to descend on The Park on Saturday night to watch England v Serbia/Ghana/Aus.

Anyway it wont be in The Park as already stated because there are acts scheduled to perform there, it will either be Dairy Ground or Flagtopia

The bigger problem will be if England do not win the group because playing Germany is a bigger draw, however, are they really going to bump Slash and the others off the Pyramid to show the football, I dont think so.

Just because you like the football and want a decent spot to watch it, please think before you type such rubbish and start getting people worried

    • Muse will be about but the issue with Muse is that they’ll have the pick of doing IOW, BST, Glasto, R&L or big parks/stadiums.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
