Portable Charger

I wasn't too fussed about the lack of AC adapter because the packaging certainly didn't suggest there was supposed to be one.

Ah well, as long as it charges up somehow I don't care!!

How are you charging yours? Via your computer? Mine started about half an hour ago too.

Still showing the red light. But after what Strudders told me time wise, I'm not fussed.

Mine came through the post today, and must say very impressed so far. Not that I need it for my nokia, but has anyone worked out how to connect the micro USB (only right angled connector) to the device. Seems the only one that won't fit because it is a female connector, I have tried every combination possible and it is annoying me!

Well done for whoever found this :)

Actually I am a little disappointed with mine (Ted Baker) at the moment. I have charged my HTC up twice now using it and both times I have only managed one measly charge out of it. I am going to try once again over the weekend but this time with the phone SWITCHED off!

The first time I used it to charge it only took 2 hours with the phone on, second time it took well over 5!

Anyone else finding the suggested number of charges of at least two times isnt happening?

My barely used but 3 year old Freeloader even with well over 8 hours of very full sunshine charge without being plugged in (how you are supposed to charge the FL up) only managed to give my HTC about a quarter charge! Meh!

I REALLY hope there is a spare plug socket in the Strumpets trailer for phone charging now :(

Charged. Lovely green light.

That's about 6 hours - via USB to laptop.

Now I suppose the best thing to do is leave it until my phone needs to be charged then plug it in..... Does it stay turned off but full of power until you connect something to it?

Perfect Glasto practise!!

Charger is in the bag, waiting to be used when my 5800 is out of power.

It drinks power like a bastard so I reckon it'll need charging tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

If I can make it through to Monday night (the same length without a charge as it'll have at Glasto) without having to charge my phone via the AC adapter, I'll consider it a worthwhile purchase.

Rechargeable batteries do degrade over time. Li Ion is terrible, can loose 20% or more each year. It's worst at high-temperatures and low-charge state. I keep my batteries in the fridge when not in use, and try to store them at a good charge state.

Just got mine and fully charged it to green light.

Tried to charge my iphone 3GS to test but nothing?? Tried with my white ipod cable and nothing. Tried with the adpater that comes with the charger and I get the little sound when you connect it to the phone but nothing else.

Anyone else having these problems. Are the guys who are managing to charge their iphones using 3G or 3GS?

gave mine a go last night, it would charge my mp3 which was disapointing as it normally charges through a 3 pin plug to usb. my tested my HTC but that only needed a little power and it worked. going to drain my phone battery completely this weekend and see how many charges I can get.

Right, spoon feed me here.....

Can everyone just summarize and clarify 2 things for me :

A : Does the Ted Baker one work with the iPhone 3GS

2 : How many charges in total will I get for the iPhone over the weekend?

Cheers Muchly :)

    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
