Right sorted it, put it on the mains now with a USB plug thing.. its still red so will let it charge up overnight.

Have noticed the red light flicker a couple times though, and when I press the button on it while charging it goes green.., then stays green even when pressed again.. until its unplugged..

Paul, Try charging something, and then plugging it in to recharge again. I did that to see if it worked, then charged the device again, and it took 5 hours, but eventually the light went green. I think it holds some charge. I am charging my phone at the moment, so it seems to be OK.

Dunno about you, but I've got 3 or 4 crappy old mobiles in drawers at home from years gone by. I tend to charge 3 of them up for Glastonbury, make sure all my contacts are on my SIM and then just switch the SIM from one phone to the next when the battery runs out.

It means I never have to worry about charging and it's not a big deal if I lose/break the phone.

Simples.

Worried for a while as 5 hours passed and light was still red but not long after greenness occurred. Now just need to empty battery on DaisyB and hand her over to Ted Baker for a good seeing to!

Mine's not buggered :P Daisy B the Crystal Gooseberry just took about 2 hours to fully charge. Had to splice a connector from my Freeloader solar charger to be able to use the HTC adaptor but am quite happy with the results. Going to trial the number of charges now.

This arrived today and confused me no end to start with - no AC adapter!!

Still, I'm only a bit of a simple moron so worked out how it plugs into the laptop to charge. How long does it take to fully carge?

Ta.

Aldi are doing a camping sale next Thursday. Good for me - a chance to replace my leaky airbed.

But I also noticed they're flogging solar powered phone chargers. Not sure how they work, [i.e. whether you have to leave your phone out in the sun with the charger or whether the charger has it's own on-board batteries so you can connect it to your phone later.]

The Aldi camping gear is definitely worth a look. I've been using their little flying-saucer LED tent-light for a couple of years and it's brilliant.
