Yeah I would not be hoping or expecting anything too big really for the opening acts folks. People have already been disapointed due to hype, so set your sights low!

If someone big is finally announced then good, but if not and these acts are built up too much it will be another bout of pissing and moaning at how weak the line-up is compared to what people believed it would be based on the hype of the last year!

i think coldplay would be an excellent opener, a big name to kick the festival friday off. i know maximo park officially opened up last year, but playing such a small stage with allegedly 40,000+ trying to pack the surrounding area was a joke. Pyramid opener to start the festival officially makes more sense. Smaller bands on stages on thursday to start the build up as in previous years.

more importantly, if coldplay are playing, does this increase the likelihood that gwyneth paltrow will be on site?

I know she's a total knobhead but I absolutely adore her. I would love to take her back to my tent and try her on for a couple of hours when there is a lull in the music

I spoke to my mate again last night and he is sure that coldplay will be at the festival. He said about the rumours of them opening but he does not have a clue where they will play. I personaly cant imagine coldplay not being there in some form as chris martin loves the festival so much. Will just have to wait for an announcement to see if this is correct.
