Dizzee Rascal Second Headliner...

I don't have a problem with them hyping their own festival, obviously. The problem I have is them making a big deal over it then delivering a very average line up

I think they probably tried for the huge names but they couldn't afford them (like The Rolling Stones) or were told no (Zeppelin anyone?) Same with the acts under them.

I'll be at Hot Chip either way....although I wouldn't mind seeing Dizzee again now he's got a band with him

Can I just ask, and I don't mean to come across as a smart arse but... urm... are you actually going to Glasto? I just don't see it in your signature... and if you're not, then I can't understand why you'd be arsed really!

Art is subjective

Taste is subjective

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the line up, cant wait to see some old faves and try some new ... who cares what time anybody's on...

one persons shit is anothers shinola! :P

or to put it in Glastonbury terms

one persons headliner is anothers support act...

in short... who cares... enjoy!

There is a discussion to be had and it's true some people will jump down the throat of anyone who criticizes anything in a slightly odd way but if you want to debate the lineup seriously then you can't frame the debate as: "What the f**k Eavises? This lineup is turd on a stick and X, Y and Z playing in their positions is a CRIME AGAINST MUSIC. EAVIS SORT IT OUT"

The truth is somewhere in the middle. There is no one for who the lineup couldn't be improved by one or two personal-favourite additions but equally you have to question the breadth and taste of someone who cannot find anything they like it in,

I totally accept that but some people are making it impossible to even discuss it

I'll admit I was a bit rash with some of the stuff I came out with. And there is stuff I like, there's stuff I love. If it wasn't the 40th anniversary i think it would be a decent line up, but you can't get away from the fact that this year was supposed to be a major celebration in terms of it being 40. And obviously, they weren't gonna pull out the likes of Led Zep, Pink Floyd or The Rolling Stones, but I still think it doesn't reflect the anniversary as well as it could.

If your seriously not happy with the lineup cancel your ticket there are 1000's of people who would love to have your ticket...

Easy solution plus you won't bore us with your meaningless dribble

Sums up this years line up tbh. Dizzee Rascal playing second headliner on the Pyramid Stage is not good news. He hasn't earnt that slot yet. Not IMO anyway.

Poor move Eavis, very poor move.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
