Think they'll end up subbing at Sonisphere (2011) tbh, Download would probably give them headliner if they've got two 'big guns' on the other days though. Really don't think there's much of an audience for them at Reading nowadays unless they get stuffed in the tent after a Download headliner show, which is possible.

simply because reading is the "it" festival, too many indie twats and lame indie girls who dont have a real clue about independent music and only listen to Razorlight and Kaiser Chiefs...

the festivals just a place to get drunk these days..

I thinkpeople are too quick to blame "indie kids". To me thepeople who seem to think Blink-182 and Paramore will be greatthis year are in many ways worse. Indie Kids know what they like, and that's the latest popular music, andshow up to a festival to hear it.... The Blink-182/Paramore kids are oblivious that they are encouraging pop music, and hide behind the fact that it has guitars and music be rock. People are looking forward to them for Nostalgia... they are a band that one liked when one was a child. This to me seems far worse. The minute they start booking proper credible acts again it'll be great. Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Guns N Roses (yep), Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Pearl Jam, Eminem, Iron Maiden,...... Soundgarden. Old and new acts of recent yrears that will attract music fans of a wide range but won't be there mearly for a band one ike when they were a child because it had a few knob gags. SO yeah... not all IndieKids fault.

Basically it's people with shit taste in music, then? :P

On one hand, it's a truly depressing sight to see, bands like those (and the Pumpkins!) getting low crowds considering their legacy. But on the other hand, I'm glad that the crowds are smaller because that means there's more likely to be genuine fans of the band there rather than hanger-on knobheads, like what we had with RATM in '08, full of people who wouldn't look out of place on Nathan Barley, obviously there to "SEE KILLIN IN THE NAME OFF!!!!!111". Was quite a relief the following night to see that everyone who had turned up for the Manics was there for the whole thing, and not just to see Your Love Alone, Design For Life or If You Tolerate This. :P

Your kidding, that was their big come back song, and it partly the reason why they got back on the Reading bill. It was from Send Away The Tigers and had what's her name from Cardigans singing on it.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
