In defence of flags.

Personally I like the flags

Horses for courses here. My kids prefer to be able to look out for the flag, whilst they are amongst it all at the front, whilst I'm at the edges. Meeting points are great, and more power to you if that works for you. It's just what our family does.

I do like the spectacle all those flags bring, but I can see how it will annoy people when they are all at the front. However, as it has become such a devisive issue, more and more people will bring flags as it is seen as THE thing to do. The publicity surrounding this issue has probably added more fuel to the fire.

I have never taken a flag, or held a flag, but as a meeting point or location reference marker there brilliant. Especially at the Pyramid when you can get lost just going off to the toilets.

More Flags I say, tho once they are up, I dont belive they should be aloud to move, because that just isn't cricket.

I've never taken a flag to Glastonbury and as a consequence I am constantly getting lost and never seem to be able to find my mates. It's terrible.

I got enough shit when I admitted to carrying an umbrella around. And that serves a useful purpose when blocking your view.

The amount of flags was so high last year it was incredible.

I was trying to watch Kasabian on the Saturday night when we couldn't see the stage due to flags, we thought sod it and moved so we could watch them on the centre screen, and lo behold there were flags blocking the view of half the screen too.

The poll run on the official site was a waste of time because the wrong questions were asked.

There is no reason to ban flags altogether, but there is a complete need to ban them from in front of the main stages. Guarantee if the stewards stopped people with flags from going into the golden circle at the pyramid the problem would be solved. But as far as I can tell this isnt going to happen, so more and more vain, selfish, twats will block the views again this year
