haha some funny tips

.dont take all your cash out at once..if you budget 300-400 just take out 100 a time from the ATMs

if you smoke make sure to bring spare lighters/matches, spare rizlas too..nothing worse than getting your rizlas out and finding they're all wet and stuck together

take some immodium with you just incase ..better to have it to hand

:P I realise that some people need/want to wash their hair, just question the need to do it late morning when most people are trying to use the sinks to cure their gob rot and rehydrate. It sounds like you are an upstanding pillar of the community type though with splendid sink sharing values.

:( Peace out man x

Kasabian fans : Enjoy a near replica of a live personal performance of your favourite band by recording noises in the long drops and playing them back on loop.

Another one for iPhone Users: Forget the official festival programme, Guardian Guide or efestivals rumours list and download the 'mike99' app, where you input a question using the inbuilt 'Qwerty' keyboard, only to have the very same question sent right back to you mere seconds later.

Empty 2lt Plastic Milk Bottles.

Fill with water and Freeze to keep Wednesdays/Thursdays BBQ food chilled.

Using a Funnel they are a good vessel for Brothers Cider, since they dont do the big bottles any more,

saves trips back to the bar and means you can swig Brothers while mooching and bimbling about.

Finally they make excellent Tent Toilets for number ones, n you just empty them down the long drops in the morning. Tho be very careful to not mix up your Brothers and Tent bottles mixed up :P:P This may or may not have happened to me one year(so now I make sure I drink all the Brothers before bedtime) :P

If you're partial to taking your own brekkie, freeze some of the sausage and bacon. It'll last longer and keep some of your other stuff cold. Also good to freeze a bottle of orange juice.

Sausage butties are often trade-able for cans of beer. And lighter :P

I quite like Kasabian - the very first band I ever seen at a festival back in 2004.

Here's some serious tips:

If you see some longdrops being cleaned at a particular time, scout this properly - time it right and you can be using clean loos every morning.

A messenger style bag is a great idea, you can carry Halvins legendary clashfinders (laminating them is a belting idea too), some alcohol, a jumper, rain poncho, some pro plus etc. etc. etc. - enough to keep you going through the day. A lot more comfy than a backpack and probably more difficult to nick from as you can kind of keep it within your sight.

Hang a magic tree air freshener from the top of your tent - keeps it smelling nice.

Don't get rid of slightly ripped/used rain ponchos - can be used to wrap laundry in to put in your backpack at a later date or wrapped around your boots/wellies to avoid your tent getting muddy.

Schmangle blankets may be a bit pricey, but they've got a few uses. It's a fleecy blanket with a waterproof backing and a hood - can be used for warmth, to keep an impromptu rain shower off, a blanket to sit on, a decent pillow. Used mines at Tartan Heart last year, was very useful indeed.

If Tony Benn speaks at Leftfield then, whatever your politics, try to make time to see him.

Forget the rabid stuff you may have heard about him over the years as, like Michael Foot, his qualities will perhaps only be fully acknowledged once he is no longer with us. A true conviction politician and a great orator.
