Dear people who don't think they are big/good enough to headline...

'Over 80 million albums sold between Williams and Take That.'

'Take That played 20 U.K. and Ireland stadiums in summer 2009 - with all 1,109,160 tickets sold-out'

Source

Different, yes. Not worthy, no.

Not a fan and not a hater - I probably couldn't help singing along if present. Like the idea of lots of randy 30 yo women but would likely be somewhere else.

However - IMO they are not Headline material for Glastonbury - they are undoubtedly very big but I just don't see the fit for a headline slot on the Pyramid. Then again hip-hop will never catch on either..... ;)

I could see ME asking them though for the Sunday afternoon slot (Madness last year), but I wonder if their egos/agent would accept anything less than top billing. Also - RW went down very well at Glastonbury (so I understand) and it is the location of his famous lost weekend with Oasis so it would be a sort of homecoming and I am sure his hits (if they are included in the set list) could get a huge reception - could the rest of TT handle RW getting the lions share of the crowds affection?

Expect them to be at V or IOW though......if they haven't split by then.....

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
