Headliners NOT confirmed

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in my life, I was actually expecting something half funny as I scrolled down? Maybe even something scaling the heights of a man extending his middle phalanx and asking if "it was mine"? Sheesh.

Next time you decide to enter a battle of wits, maybe you shouldn't come unarmed...

:P

To be honest I'm not overly impressed either. While acknowledging he's obviously a legend, and I do like the songs I've heard, I borrowed a mate's greatest hits and had only heard of about 8 songs, which puts him into the potentially boring category which Bruce fitted into last year. I did enjoy a lot of his show and would enjoy Stevie Wonder's as well, but I do probably have a more extensive music experience/knowledge than a lot of the glasto crowd (please don't think that sounds arrogant, it wasn't my intention, but I'm not just an NME slave) wonder (no pun intended) if a 2-3 hour set may just get a bit tiresome, especially as people will be one more day tired than on a Saturday night. Sitting off on a glorious sunny afternoon would have had me genuinely excited to see him, now I'm not sure? I'd have thought Stevie Saturday, Muse Sunday would have been better.

sorry to disappoint but there was simply no way to top 'i know loads about music/i dont own any stevie' in the hilarity/irony stakes

your opening gambit was simply unstoppable.

cheers for the convo, your comments really have made the last couple of hours fly by and now the weekend is upon us, but i'll carry that smile with me for a while!!!

Oh look, it's the lets jump on the bandwagon clique...took your time.

I don't think highly of myself and I'm not arrogant it's just that a small minority of people here are dicks and if I hadn't said what I'd said I'd have been called up for being an NMEite or Oasis listening numpty, because that's the general level of people's come backs. People also look for any opportunity to get on people's backs, beacuse they probably feel inadequate themselves.

I've already explained myself fairly well. My statement, which was followed by brackets to make it clear I wasn't trying to glorify myself, which conveniently noone includes in their oh-so-witty ripostes, is backed up by the fact that I go to at least two gigs every single week and usually 4 festivals a year. I don't want any awards for this, because it's just what I like doing and it's because as well as being a music fan, I'm involved in the industry as both a performer and in promotion (not as my job, but in spare time). This also means that I have more gig experience than a lot of the glasto goers and therefore have a decent grasp of the situation I was discussing. Yes, I don't own any Stevie Wonder, this is an error, it certainly wasn't a result of him being shit. I'm sure you've got every album of every band you've ever liked hey? So basically...do one.

P.S. Russy - you're not normally a dick, so don't start! :P

I'm not over excited about any of the headliners (although I'm planning on listening to alot more Stevie before the festival and probably going to see him) but there is no doubting all three acts deserve there placing if they do headline.

Enjoying this thread... definately some class knobbishness coming out... need I say by whom?

I have to admit that, although I only have a tiny musical knowledge I am now making an effort with this Mr. Wonder character, whom I am guessing is not some kind of superhero.

Delivered!

(Neil seems to avoid that last bit)...
