Lady GaGa

Although I am not her hugest fan, I sincerely disagree. If you look at past other stage headliners in recent years, why is she any less deserving, than panic at the disco or bloc party, she has if anything, more recognizable tunes and a more upbeat set and looking at the other stage footage on youtube, she drew a huge crowd (when up against the specials) and the crowd looked more into it than majority of bruce springsteen and kasabian set.

That is surely what glastonbury is about, seeing acts that you have no real interest in, and seeing how good they are for yourself. I know for me anyway, I try to see as many acts as i can that i have never heard of and 9 times out of 10 they end up being my favourite

I'm not talking about her sucsess though, I'm talking about her personality and the music that she makes. Lady GaGa is everything that is bad about the charts in one person. The only reason she gets her sucsess is because she comes from a broken background and literally rams her "story" down peoples throats. Just like Cheryl f**king Cole. The truth is she really has a dry personallity in real life (the Wossy interview points to this) and has no place at Glastonbury, and before you say I wasn't on the anti Jay- Z brigade. I thought Jay-Z had every right to play, he has real talent. GaGa is just a useless tool.

Do you actually just hate everyone who has a huge fan base and only like obscure bands that no one has heard of.

:P Yes shouting over some music usually made by someone else on a computer is so much more talented isn't it, than Lady GaGa, who does actually sing on her recordings and does write her own songs isn't fit to play? She puts on a good show, yeah its not the best music around but she is a great performer, I would love to see her at the o2 but the prices are just ridiculous. Just stop taking her so serious, shes makes half decent pop music, thats what she is, its a bit of laugh in the afternooon and loads of people will have fun while your getting all angry.

I agree that she makes good pop music and I'm beginning to like her more but we watched her Glasto set last year on telly and it all seemed a bit of a train wreck.

I wouldn't mind if she played and may even pop by for a look, but I wouldn't be making a point of it.

Although that post felt like something from an Irvine Welsh novel I agree with you 100% bruv.

GaGa is a hideous waste of time that will be forgotten about in a while.

That's the problem.

People would go see her because they like controversy and GaGa is a controversial character. The pyramid or other stage would be rammed with people who would usually have no interest in her music.

She doesn't deserve that crowd. Decent bands do.

I give a big +1 to that! Shes just bland, chart hungry pop who gets a living by overproducing her songs, auto-tuning the living Hell out of her vox and trying to make boys find her hot.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
