I had a dream last night that i came on here and everyone had changed their avatars to Pixar characters. And i didnt want to even though i thought it was cute because i didnt want to be a sheep. I woke up thinking i was an avatar snob.

Well you have to give them a bit of a nudge - verbally obviously - or they'll be there all day - had some great fun in shopping centres with autistic kids. Used to promise one lad we could ride up and down in the lift for half an hour if he went on once. Rachel would be posting 'people who monopolise lifts to f*ck about in' if we'd done in Glasgow!

I'll give a +1 for DLA.

Apparently as a diabetic all I'm allowed for Disabled Students Allowance is £50 to buy an extra fridge to put my insulin in.

What about all the extra sugary food I need to buy if I have a hypo?

And up until I was 16 I got money from DLA. But after that, I was told 'the money was for your mum, now you're an adult you should be able to take care of yourself'. What was the money for then? My mum was an adult, why did she need the money? And, my brother who is 24 still gets his sodding DLA.

I'm going to take that £50 fridge use it to keep my beer and cocaine cold. That'll show em.

Also, employment agencies sending on a 2 year old CV which they have put together themselves incorrectly, rather than sending on the shiny new CV I sent them

What do the disability allowance people do for people who have a debilitating condition like MS or a blood disorder fior example who have good days and bad days? Are you supposed to expect an employer to take you on when its likely that you'll have to take time off sick regularly?

    • Wow, way to insult the guy.
    • yougov seems to be the outlier when it comes to the Burnham bounce. But also, being a bounce, it was never going to last, but with Reform maybe on the way down, and Tories holding steady, we could end up with Reform, Labour and Tories all between 20 and 25% for a while. A lot of it at moment with Burnham is vibes, and the vibes are currently sexy and are pulling support back from Greens, but the autumn budget is key...will they go big and bold, or will they do very little because they're thinking a 2027 general election?
    • Attended a gig at Piece Hall for the first time on Saturday (Opeth), the music was excellent. Just a couple of points on the organisation & the event itself. - Getting through the gates seemed to take longer than required. I was at the South gate about 30 mins before stated start time and still missed first half of Katatonia. - Coffee stall was serving cold coffee later on. - Lots of the crowd seemed to be more interested in chatting than listening to the music. Doubly annoying when sound levels for Opeth seemed quieter than Paradise Lost, is this usual for the venue due to curfew etc? Luckily there was enough room so I could move close to the front of the crowd and couldn't hear drunken chatter anymore 🙂
    • Tickets will just be sent out via email; going out next Monday 10th August apparently.
