People who get daddy to pay for everything or bail them out. Even when they have a job and should sort shit out by themselves.

Want to go to a festival at the last minute? Daddy gets out the credit card.

Need a desposit on a flat? Daddy forwards the cash.

Need a car? Daddy buys them a car.

Totalled the car? Daddy buys a new one.

Need a deposit for a house? Daddy gives them a few grand.

Need to go on holiday? Daddy buys the holiday.

I have no respect for people like that, they just squander their money on useless shit like new speakers and iphones and other pointless shit and always get daddy to bail them out of their financial f**k ups. Irresponsible and unemployable - but what do they care, daddy pays for everything anyway! I even have a couple of "mates" who just got given ridiculous properties by their doting parents. One got his own city centre penthouse apartment in the middle of Manchester, he's a sodding student. Another one just got given a three bed house all to himself, no mortgage, just bought and paid for, and he hasn't worked a single day in his entire life. Meanwhile I have struggled to cobble together a deposit for my own place for years. I'll be lucky if I find a shed in some shithole with the way house prices are all skewed to "those that have". Spoilt silver spoon motherf**kers.......ARGH!!

The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. This country is seriously f**ked up. Bitter as fook.

Not something that annoys me but something that made me sad...

As you will see from the laughter thread, i am terrified of spiders, i know it is irrational in this country, but there you go. Anyway a massive spider has been living in our house recently. My OH caught him once and took him outside, (I asked him to put him on a train to London, but he said that was going too far), anyway he came back, would you believe spiders have a homing instinct? Anyway the little bugger got behind me last night while i was watching telly, i can't cope with him hiding somewhere where he might jump out at me. So i chased him around the flat for 30 minutes trying to trap him so OH could take him away when he got home.

Eventually i got him in a position where i could put the glass over him, but i missed and he ran away, i did manage to get him on the next go but then when i looked down i had managed to pull a few of his legs off on the first time round. They were lying on the carpet. I feel really bad now. :( Massive karma fail. :(:(

People who try and haggle with me.

f**k off, the room is $130 dollars. Not $110, not $120. $130. Its winter, we're in a ski resort, that means we are really busy. Its $130. I don't care how long you are staying. I dont care how much the hotel down the road is charging. And I'd rather not sell the room to them anyway cos the people who try and haggle on arrival nearly always turn out to be awkward c**ts who aren't worth the hassle.

You don't walk into a supermarket and ask "how much is the loaf of bread?" 2 dollars. "I'll give you a $1.50"

There is, but when my hotel runs at 85% plus occupancy (95% plus in peak season , and we only really have about a month and a half of quiet season a year), I'll take my chances. And like I said, one of the reasons I dont do it is cos once they stay, the people who have tried to haggle are usually a nightmare. If I'm feeling very generous in the quiet months I might chuck in a free breakfast.

When my mother first move to the UK in the early 70s, she went into our local Tesco and when she was told her weekly shop was about £7 pounds, offered the cashier £5.

There are times and places for bartering. The market, yes, ticket touts, yes, most of the Indian subcontinent and the middle east, yes. Tesco, probably less so :)

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
