Oasis...

Had a thought...Oasis without Noel have apparently got an album coming out next summer...I wonder, given the fact they dropped out of the second date of V this year, if they've come to an agreement to make up by playing next year??

If that happens and Kasabian headline the other day we could end up with two Oasis tribute bands playing...

Still got my fingers crossed for Arctics and REM...

haha lippy.

I remember a few year back when verve split and richard ashcroft headlined. if noel headlined I would take that, I much prefer his voice but doubt his voice is strong enough to headline.

I think the good money is on arctics and the wonderful kasabian headlining. :P

or it could be radiohead and bjork headlining.

Surely V would put Oasis and Kasabian on the same day, If that were the headliners theres no way Id be going to V next year.

I really rated Oasis' performance at V this year, and I feel sorry for the Chelms lot who didn't get to see them but that's just taking the piss having them back next year

Why don't Chelms book them for the Friday night, and we can have a Friday night headliner who only plays at Staffs like Daft Punk :P

really think noel could be playin v next year rather than liam, possibly as 2nd stage headliner?? or high main stage!

not sure but think liam has said he wont be singing any oasis songs that noel wrote anymore, which is a fair few 2 b honest, but if noel played am sure he would go down a treat!!

Yeah, think Noel would be OK...not as headliner mind.

And if Liam's only playing Oasis songs he's written...can't see many people rushing to hear a set consisting of the likes of 'Little James' & 'Songbird'

You've got a point!

Jesus...if we had Paul McCartney (doing Beatles songs), Noel, Oasis without Noel, Kasabian and The Bootleg Beatles it could be the first time a festival has had a whole day that consisted of just one song...(although to be fair, I accidentally caught a bit of the Script last year when I was going for a pint so I know exactly how it feels to listen to a song that makes you think its lasted for 24 hours...)

Now, I love Oasis...seen them loads going back to the Definately Maybe tour, went to Knebworth, Earls Court etc etc...but they were very poor at V this year...worst I've ever seen them...they couldn't have been going through the motions more if they'd donned rubber gloves and got jobs fishing the toilet paper out of the tanks in a sewage plant...

Personally, I thought Snow Patrol & The Killers were were far, far better (not to mention The Specials, Dizzee etc etc)...much as it grieves me to say that. We all have off days at work where we can't be arsed, but at least when I do it I haven't had 80,000 people fork out £160 they can barely afford to watch me do it...

Fraud?? Ha ha! yeah...probably some confused dickwad reported them because they figured out when they got home that they hadn't actually just watched the Beatles, The Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Oasis, Pink Floyd etc etc but they were people pretending to be them...there are some pretty stupid people out there (the fact that I have a job and a sex life is prove of that!)

Liam Gallagher's live vocals from the last few years have sounded like Kermit the frog with a chainsaw lodged in his throat - so I'm not overly excited by seeing them live without Noel (and his songs).. On record, (with studio enhancement?), Liam can still lay down good vocals - but the key is whether or not the remaining members of Oasis can write good songs for him to sing!

TBH, I'm more interested in seeing what Noel has to offer as a solo artist - if, and when, he decides to pull his lazy fingers out and starts working on it...

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
